Rants *enter at own risk*

Recommended Posts

It is a good thing I live alone. The only thing I can manage to do today is cuss.

I thank the pdn gods that I am no longer labeled the Pauly Shore recipient of the ever offending awards show because I also live alone and no one can hear me cussing, lol.

I don't live alone & everyone can hear me cussing...

I never understood the Pauly Shore thing. Yeah maybe I lived under a rock or maybe...far away from civilization...

Glad that you are no longer labelled as something you found offensive. I voted for you in the Picasso award. Sometimes I don't get your work but always appreciate the work that has gone into it. Most of the time your use of colour just blows me away.

Rant, of course - that what the thread says: 40 deg Celsius - 104 deg Fahrenheit overnight with daytime temps slightly higher, no rain for months now. Should a lawn be brown & crispy?? Had to drain the concrete pond as it cracked from the big dry. Saved the water lily & put it in a kids pool - now has a mumma frog & her tadpoles residing in it. If you have rain you don't want, please send it to us.

Worse still, there is a super storm cell going to hit us tomorrow apparently. Baseball sized hail. One time you don't mind if the bureau says: Sorry, it isn't going to happen now.

Nothing today but more coughing to the point of throwing up. And, cussing.

I'm tempted to go out and buy some meth so I can turn it back into decent cold medicine.

Everything sold over the counter anymore is just junk.

On my medical card it says a trip to the emergency room costs $50. So, why did they just charge me $500?!

I don't even feel any better. :(

Oh dear - you really must be in a bad way.  You need to change your health insurance pronto!

If it makes you feel any better, I had to take my cat to the vet yesterday.  He was hydrated by IV, blood work done, anti inflamatory and antibiotic injections and the bill came to $487.00.

Do hope you begin to feel better soon :lightning:

They charge you to go to Emergency? Wow. And that much?? My doctor is free as he only charges the rebate rate that you get back from the government Medicare system which we pay for by a 2% income tax levy. Accident & Emergency is free. Hospital & operations & specialist services are free but you have a waiting list. I have never had to wait too long for operations that we vital. The care I got was excellent. No single rooms but hey, I'm not there for a holiday.

Australia is really the lucky country. I hope we stay lucky & our pollies don't mess it up for us. It isn't busted - don't fix it.

Anyone getting rain they don't want? Australia is baked to a crisp. Send it our way, please.

Pretty much 3 months of rain in the UK - grab a bucket/ bowl/ any receptacle and help yourself  :D ( Not so funny when some have been flooded out of their homes multiple times  :( )

$500.  Damn.  In the past month my son has broken his hand and my daughter fractured her cheek/ had tonsillitis.  I'd be bankrupt with the trips to A & E, operations, follow up appointments, physio etc. Sadly the Tories are trying to break the NHS.  As well as those who do such a great job working in it. Viva la revolution

I'm not sure that is quite fair to blame the Tories.  You have to admit that having the NHS is crippling the country financially and the standards are, thus, going down the loo.  The Tories are trying to save it and, of course, that will not be popular.  The NHS was very good to my husband and I and, between us, probably cost them over 200 thousand pounds in two years. When we lived in the Isle of Man they even paid for our air fares over to the Mainland to see specialists and also where we had to have the surgeries done. Think about that cost for every old codger, Tom, Dick & Harry in the UK :/ .  Boggles the mind.

500 bucks for a trip to the ER? That's extortion because its unexplainable and someone deserves to be sued for it.

My swollen jaw that has some infection/cyst to it needs to have some sort of surgery done to and upon consultation to a doctor on a private hospital yesterday, the price it costs if you're asleep is 3 times than what I thought it would be. Its extremely greedy to try and capitalize on someone health... There are doctors that are extremely giving and helpful but there are some who can intimidate you so much either because they aren't so cunning with what they say about the diagnosis or the price they want you to pay.

David Cameron said he wouldn't cut the NHS - then launched a £20 billion programme of cuts.

David Cameron  said "no more top-down reorganisations of the NHS" - then launched the biggest top-down reorganisation in the entire history of the institution.

David Cameron promised that he wouldn't privatise the NHS - then proceeded to carve it up into little pieces and sell them off to the private sector.

David Cameron said that the NHS would be safe in his hands - then set about deliberately dismantling it from within.

Approximately 20,000 nursing jobs lost or left vacant, 8,000 fewer beds etc.

Politics will always be about opinions but when our government lets corporations like Google and Amazon just to name two get away with paltry tax returns when that extra income would go a long way to funding the NHS

But all about opinions as I say

All right, time to let off some steam, because I can't stop clenching my jaw shut out of anger.

My little brother, who turned 10 years today, was beaten twice in the face yesterday by one of his classmates. This classmate (who we thought was a friend of my brother, since they often played with each other a recess and at each others homes) had walked up to him and said out of the blue "I want that pokemoncard of mine back on Monday, or you're done for" as my brother responded with an "Okay", then he hit my brother two times at the left side of the face before the teacher interfered. This classmate hadn't asked for the card earlier. My brother even tried to protect this guy who hit him with a clenched fist, when my parents was trying to find out what had happened with saying "It didn't actually hurt that much" and "Please don't call his mom". What this boy did is illegal, it is both Threat and Abuse which can give up to 4 and 2 years in imprisonment, for an adult.

Oh, because I am allergic to things I do not want to do. *Cough*

Oh no! Not you too? I can totally sympathetic. At this stage mine is responding well to the antibiotics but man, they make me feel nauseous! In temps in excess of 40 deg C or over 102 F, it is hard.

Si Borg - we have had those too. It just does your head in. The weather is crazy. It's either way too much or way too little.

Limon, that is terrible. I wonder why the boy reacted like that? Deeper issues there I think.

We are getting a bit of rain today. I'm sure the humidity is like 200%. I feel for those folk who cannot handle it.

  • 4 weeks later...

My Wifi (and sometimes my USB controller) doesn't work when I upgrade to Win10.  Had to roll back to 7.  :(

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

You know when you have this picture in your head and trying to replicate it on PDN?

So I am making an image and it contains a fairly simple shape, a cube.

So, my progress...

Create the background - Done.

Create smaller details - Done.

Create this extremely basic shape - ehh...

I'm staring at this cube next to me trying to replicate it whilst thinking, "What...are...you?!". This went on for a good 20 minutes - trying combinations of Shape3D, actually using angles and mathematics and such, before I noticed I had installed a shapes pack. And inside the shapes pack is a cube all made up for me already.

There might have been some swearing at this point.

BUT IN THE END, I GOT IT.

Never had any issues like that in Win10, but I really hated that it would constantly upgrade without my consent. That's what annoyed me the most about Win10. I pretty much use Linux 99% of the time these days and am much happier because of it.
