Hubby very obligingly took me shopping whilst waiting for step-son to arrive at the airport. He met a friend there who said, "I don't know why she drags me with. It's not like she talks to me or even asks my opinion."

I smiled. He then said, "I am just the designated driver."

Hubby & I looked at each other & smiled. I told me poor guy he his much more than the designated driver. He's the donkey too.

It made me think of you Welshy & I bet there are a lot of other guys in the same boat. :D

If you are going to be a grinch, then your kind is the best kind. I'd side with you any day. You stick up for what is right. Not politically correct or fashionable or even legal but for what is right.

Hubby & I discussed the "artificial" marijuana & how this might have affected one of the hippy shops I love to go to when they had all of that type of product seized. I asked why do we need the artificial stuff when marijuana is a natural plant based substance. Only a few hours later, step-son put forth almost the same argument word for word.

10 days of hubby's doppleganger - woe is me! Worst of all, I now have to look up at him.

Now, no one take this seriously.  Just slightly angry.  But I've been saving all of my PDN files in my downloads folder.  Which has been working fine, up until recently - I am running out of space on my laptop's hard drive.  So, now, I have to weave through and pick out all of my PDN stuff, put it somewhere else, and THEN I can clear my downloads folder.

The hardest part of ending is starting again.

Sorry, nil sympathy.

Bizarre place to store your stuff.  Don't you have a My Pictures folder??

You need to get organized!  Proper folders and sub folders with descriptive names is the way to do it.  Something like this:

You have no idea how happy that folder organisation makes me. I currently only have about two months' worth of files on my computer, so there's no need for a great organisational structure, but I used to have everything categorised by year, then month, with a special folder for things transcending dates.

Do you clean your computer regularly of accumulating temp files?

EDIT:

Also, you might consider burning your downloads to a CD-ROM or put them on a USB stick.

How I organize my desktop:

1. dump all the pictures into a folder called "pics".

2. dump everything else into a folder called "misc".

3. put both folders into a folder called "stuff".

4. move the folders on my desktop around to make a smiley face.

I'm using ubuntu now :D Has its upsides, like 4 workspaces and a nice interface, but no PDN is a major minus. :( No netflix either.

Welsh: yeah it would, but we don't have any. I looked up a couple tutorials though and remapped it to a useless media key.

Then an extortionate taxi fare home.  Sod that and I don't care who thinks I'm boring

Not me for sure. I / We refuse to pay the price hike to taxi drivers, fair enough they do give up a night that they may like to go out on, but they are not alone. Last NYE I worked all night. many of my co workers are there all night this year. My plan is to watch the annual Jools Holland knees up and then toast in the new year with a glass (or 5) of some white wine.

Enjoy your night Welshblue what ever you plan to do. And an advanced Happy New Year to you and yours. I hope the floods subside soon.

Welshy, I wouldn't do it either. We walked to the Thai restaurant instead of taking a cab or me driving. I don't drink but find it hard to see in the dark...old :D

Raining here too thank goodness. It's soft rain that is fab for the gardens & lawns.

Happy 2013 everyone!

I finished it.  It only recently occurred to me that I should empty it out.

My fraps folder was more beneficial to empty, as it had about 20 2+ gigabyte files.  I've got about 50 GB left, as opposed to 20 when I started.  I'm all good now.

Rant:

I've been having trouble making new images with paint.net.  Sometimes it will crash on start up (I think I may have screwed up my computer - everything seems to be going slower), and sometimes I'll spend 30 minutes or more on some random image, then I'll decide I don't like it and close it.  Looks like I'll have to go back to the tutorials for a little bit, I'll get to that the next time.

The hardest part of ending is starting again.

I tried Ubuntu once.

A major minus was the fact that it wouldn't connect to the internet.  Worked fine on Vista, but not on Ubuntu.  And I don't ever feel like learning a new OS without the need to.

Didn't we do something like that already?
