On the subject of fonts...

does anyone know of any good freeware truetype/opentype font editor? They are surprisingly hard to find.

to stay on topic here's the rant: I once downloaded this program called FontCreator which was supposed to have a free trial. Well, everything seemed good, it had lots of options and good functionality, until I tried to save the font I had been working on - then it drops the bomb: "you cannot save fonts in trial mode". FFS#"¤%"#¤&ARGLEBLARGLE!! Why advertise a "free trial mode" if the trial version is totally useless?

To get you used to the features, and to draw you in; you're more likely to buy something once you've sampled it and found it suits your uses than you would be if no trial at all were offered. The lack of a save feature is simply a slightly annoying incentive to buy the product.

Also, loving that argleblargle there. :D

It's not that the trial version is useless, it's the fact that they offer it as a "fully functional trial" which is highly misleading, and frankly when they pull a stunt like that it makes me less likely to ever want to buy the full product.

Rant: I was in a turnaround thing on the road during my first time driving in heavy rain. I pulled out too quickly and spun out. I did not crash or anything but it scared the hell out of me and probably whoever was staring at me when it happened. I just drove on as normal and it wasn't a big deal haha.

Are we running the Tute comp? I will have to go & check it out then. I thought it was still being thrashed out. OOPS!

OK, will go & do it now. There is a lot of work in writing a tute & I am sure there must be a lot of work in hosting too.
