Pyrochild: I know, right? If someone doesn't like the singing/performance in Youtube or the question in Yahoo! Answers, why even bother commenting? :x I hear you.

Another rant: People using status updates on facebook to have conversations. The comment function is there for a reason, folks. I don't want my feeds to be spammed with your inane babble, pushing off things that I might actually be interested it. Oh well, the situation has been dealt with. Simply ignore updates from these people.

You know, you can dial down the amount of each type of message you get.

RANT: As part of my ICT coursework, I need to use an E-Portfolio, and, unfortunately I have to use tables :(

Even worse though, the inline slide thingy-bobs can't have a transparent background, meaning the style of it will really be screwed up.

Help, CMD?

Why do you have to use tables? Like tables are one of the required criteria?

And I'm going to need a slightly more... better definition than "inline slide thingy-bob". :P

Do you mean in-page scrollbars?

I'll be happy to try to help where I can. If you have a link to an example, that would help too. ;)

My rant: It's December, and it's raining! IN FINLAND!

It'll be raining whole week according to the weather reports, and I have to walk almost 2 miles to school everyday. :'(

Argh.

I love rain, I'd do almost anything to get a whole week of rain.

When do you go on vacation? Then you don't have to walk in the rain and just enjoy it :) .

Tables would save me a lot of time. A lot. Although I am considering just using CSS and HTML.

And, I mean Inline frames (basically, you display one web page inside another).

Whoa! I clicked the Quote button and the message was slightly different. ;)

That's debatable. I mean, I know it comes down to familiarity as CSS can take a while to "get", but the rigidity of tables has always been a sticking point for me. It actually requires more forethought for me to think of the table structure and build the appropriate organization with TRs and TDs and colspans and nesting and all that than it would to toss together a CSS layout.

Although I am considering just using CSS and HTML.

It all comes down to cost-benefit. If it'll take too long and it's not that important, I can forgive you for using tables. :P

And, I mean Inline frames (basically, you display one web page inside another).

Yeah, iframes - white frames for you to put photos in. They're a little more intuitive but cost almost twice as much. ;)

But no, do you mean giving an iframe itself a transparent background, or do you mean giving the scrollbars the iframe may possibly generate a transparent background?

I'll attach what I mean :) Look at index.htm.

I'll just do CSS, as, honestly, I hate tables.

RANT: My body is sooooo sore. I did lots of chainsawing, axe using, wood stacking this weekend.

But, on the plus side, I didn't spend much time in front of the computer, so my lower back feels good. Hmmm... I think I need a new chair.

Ah. Do you mean that thick, hideous, beveled border? ;)

Iframes have a border by default, but you can use CSS to border:0px; them just like tables or the like. You can give an iframe an ID or just use an inline style="" attribute.

That's the only thing I see that really looks out of place. If that's not what you meant, than I'm really having an off day...

Your having an off day :)

Anyways, I'll stick to CSS, if I need any more help with that (which I will probably will) I'll ask for it.

I'll probably just change part of a CSS sheet I already have.
