Overkill
Rant: Mods locking my post and telling me to read the rules, without (at least) tell me which one. Is typing 2 digits that hard? My guess is that they want you to read through the rules entirely and understand which rule you have broken. QFT! Zeon, you should try re-posting your wallpaper issue here .. Zeon
oh... wow, didn't realise there exists such a thread... my bad. but still... after that painful "bite" from THAT mod... i've lose the motivation... maybe next time... oh one more rant about the mod: If i've posted in the wrong section, will it be THAT hard to tell me "you've posted in the wrong section"? or if you're kind enough, help me move it? HITMAN-X-
... Zeon the point is not to tell you everything that you do wrong. The point is for you to understand all of the rules from reading them and unserstanding them yourself. If they flat out told you you've posted in the wrong section, would you have takin the time to read the rules or would you of ran off and posted your topic again with the same topic title which also breaks rule number 6 ? Zeon believe it or not the mods are helping you by making you understand the rules. It not only keeps the forums clean but it helps other users here as well. Zeon
True, but the thing is, i've read the rule again and again and again, failing to find which rule i've broken. the General Discussion and Question section's description: "Want to talk about Paint.NET, or do you have suggestions, requests, or how-to questions? Post here! Not for troubleshooting questions." and The Pictorium's: "Made an image in Paint.NET and want to show it off? This is the place!" I didn't know that that section has a thread for helping ppl that have problem such as mine... at least the mod can say something like "hint: check the pictorium section" or something

david.atwell
University - a place where you do some serious studying and stuff.College - a place where to party hard! Actually, depending on the student and the institution, both of those definitions can apply to either college or university. :-) I know in some places, "college" can refer to what we Americans call "high school" - that is, secondary education. Here's how it goes here: DEFINITION NAME AGE GROUP (typical) "GRADE NUMBER" DESIGNATION Early Education "Preschool," "Kindergarten" 4yrs - 6yrs (None Usually Given) Primary Education "Elementary School," "Middle School" 6yrs - 12yrs 1st-6th* Secondary Education "Junior High," "High School" 12yrs - 18yrs 7th-12th** Higher Education "Trade School," "College," "University" 18yrs - 22yrs *** Continuing Education "Adult Education," "Non-Traditional Student" 22yrs+ (None Usually Given) * 1st-3rd usually designated "Elementary School;" 4th-6th usually designated "Middle School." ** 7th-8th usually designated "Junior High;" 9th-12th carry designations "Freshman," "Sophomore," "Junior," "Senior." (In order) *** Carry designations "Freshman," "Sophomore," "Junior," "Senior." (In order) Now, keep in mind, that the names and age groups can change significantly depending on the jurisdiction. For instance, my school system had no time period designated "middle school;" students simply went from "elementary" (6th Grade) to "junior high" (7th grade). So, yeah. "Your mileage may vary." :-) Quote  The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
HITMAN-X-
I been in college now for almost 3 years. Theres more partys at the University then the college. See the University here does all normal studys for the 1st year (kinda like doing a grade 13) then you get into what you came there for. So people in there 1st year tend to party. My friend used to get 90+ marks in school and now he getting 50+ marks in University because he partys all the time. However at College here. You go in and you start on what you came there to do. When I went in to do programming they started right away. I know people who went to University to do programming and have not done notthing with computers till there 2nd year because they had to get through there 1st year of study classes. Now I not saying you don't see partying at my college but most of it comes from the ABE students (Adult Basic Education). People who never got there grade 12 or need to get higher education. most people in ABE are 17 - 25 years olds who dropped out of high school or failed. the rest are 25 - 40 who need higher education. Most of these people will later in roll in business classes. For me it is cheaper to go to college and be around normal people (not nut jobs pulling pranks on people) then it is to pay more for University, be in University longer, and come out with the same background as both the University and the College work together on there classes to offer the exact same ones with no more and no less. Thats why you will see the University symbol on our college sign and the college sign on the University sign lol. . Quote DEXTUT.COM
pyrochild
Every year, the trumpet section in my marching band has a pizza party before the Pomona competition. (Pomona Pizza...) We used to have it at Pizza Hut, but ever since my family has owned a pizza restaurant, we've held the party there. (Good pizza for free, rather than paying for fast food pizza...) Well this year my mom decided to uninvite a few of the people who were invited. First she told me to tell those people not to come. I told her no. Then she told me to give her their numbers. Even if I had all their numbers (which I don't), I wouldn't give them to her. So then she said she's going to cancel the thing altogether. If I'd known she was going to be such a bitch about it, I'd have just declined her offer to host it at our place. But it's too late now, the party is in just over an hour. I think I'll just tell everyone to go the Subway next door. Whatever. Quote ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! HITMAN-X-
geez they talk about other kids being mean and not inviting other kids to partys to be mean to them. HITMAN-X-
RANT: My hosting account got attacked today. A php scripted was uploaded and made copys of itself under random folder names and file names. It then injected random webpages with a line of code that would who knows what as my AVG would pop up a message saying VIRUS ! everything I hit a html page. If I hit a php page it would do one of two things. One give me a php error for the line the code was enjected on (This is good as I can then remove that line). Two open the page and then try to get Active X to install something (Saying no to that). So I called my web host as this is the 1st time in 4 years that I got attacked / hacked. So there going to upload a backup from sometime ago. Right now it no big deal to me, I removed the script from all my sites and changed the password to my ftp. The pages that I found with the injected code were removed and replaced. However I have removed the links in my sig and my tutorials just to be on the safe side. Everything will be fix soon and links will go back online soon. After looking over the code and other reports I say someone got way to much time on there hands . From what i can tell it is harmless, annoying but harmless. Quote DEXTUT.COM

Andrew D
RANT: Well, my stupid sister opened up one of those msn viruses, so after having to fix it twice, I got Norton to scan the computer. And then, in the startup folder, there was about 100 trojans, rootkits, and Norton didn't even noticed them. Heck, it even had it in their names! So, I'm now doing to download AVG, Avast!, anything to get rid of them. And restoring from a backup isn't possible, as your only allowed to do it once, and it frequently crashed when I was trying to do it. So, I'm annoyed. VERY. If your planing to use AVG Free then remember that AVG Free does not do rootkit scans, Only AVG Pro does that. I also believe that Avast needs you to buy it as well for rootkit scans. If your not going to pay to fix rootkits then you may as well just format as rootkits will be your main problem I believe. Had this virus once that killed 90% of all my programs (exe files) in less then 20 mins, even made my admin account useless as it attacked the virus programs I tryed to install after it was there. Most virus are annoying if anything but don't do much damage. The one I got that day was the real deal of killing systems. Bad thing about owning a Raptor hard drive is that they are fast enough to let virus spread through out in no time what so ever. Had to format. If you own a computer you should do the smart things to keep it running. Install the OS and programs on its own Hard Drive. This way if anything happens, you can format and reinstall without losing data. Save data to another hard drive. This would be images, videos, documents, ect. For an added plus, use another hard drive in RAID to mirror the data drive. ^ That will cover you in case of lost. I do all of the above and one step more. I make backups of my backup drive just in case something happens to the data and backup drive. Quote DEXTUT.COM

aeonix
Parents. They just make you want to mutilate yourselves don't they? My dad has my computer, because his 3 OTHER LAPTOPS need XP reinstalled, but nobody around here supports XP, and he isn't going to buy himself more RAM, so he isn't going going to get his fixed for a while. So he has mines, a week before a major project on the Cheyenne people (Native American tribe) is due. And I lost my library card, so I cant go to the library, and I don't have enogh cash to get it replaced. And my books are going to be overdue, because they were due today, and the library was closed.
