A Debate for the Ages- Firefox vs Opera vs IE and more!

Recommended Posts

I was looking around on another forum and saw this post....

Now to speed up Firefox

Type in "about:config" in your navigation toolbar.

network.http.pipelining = false

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests = 4

network.http.pipelining = true

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests = 30

network.http.proxy.pipelining = false

network.http.proxy.pipelining = true

Then you need to create one new option:

* Right click anywhere on the page and select New-> Integer.

* Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay"

* Set its value to "0"

I haven't tried it, nor do I really need to because FF is already as fast as it can get.

Just something I found interesting :wink:

I've been using Firefox for so long now that it's not even something I notice anymore. I have the plugin that allows me to show the site in IE tabs, so if I ever run into any IE-only sites, I can simply hit the icon in the bottom-right and view to my heart's content. My university has both Firefox and IE7 on almost every computer, and I hit the Firefox icon by reflex. I can't remember the last time I used Internet Explorer.

Firefox, in my experience, is much easier to use. And I'm pretty excited that it has 25% of the usage on the web.

Yeah. Firefox is better.

And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.

IE rocks!

And this is why rocks are useful:

Now with IE out of the way...

I've tried both Firefox and Opera, and I've found their features to be nearly the same. The only reasons I use Firefox are its open-source nature* and my familiarity with it. If I started with Opera, I might be using it instead.

*Opera is free in cost, but proprietary.

IE sucks.... Opera is alright

But it is clear, Firefox is clearly the dominate browser... The only way you can not like Firefox is if you... Are scared of foxes... I don't know... Or if you like the letter O, but Firefox is easily the best.

The only browser I hate is IE!

I like Firefox because it display pages well, loads them fast, has extensions and themes, and mainly because I develop one :), Opera does about the same lol...
