Rick Brewster
You might try reinstalling the .NET Framework 1.1 (uninstall it, and then install it). I've seen this help in several cases. Bob
Too bad you guys have decided not to make the whole source compilable by Mono Just do it. Quote No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio
Rick Brewster
Nope... This doesn't work either... Sorry :\ That sucks. 2.5 final has the same usual non-descriptive Microsoft error as we are used to. I'm not a fan of some of these error codes, but I didn't write them. Too bad you guys have decided not to make the whole source compilable by Mono, as you would have gained a lot of extra users on POSIX platforms (*nix, *bsd, osx, etc). That's completely irrelevant, and I don't know why you said it. We are Windows developers, it's what we do for a living, and we have targeted the Windows platform and optimized Paint.NET to run best on it. I don't have the expertise to do pretty much anything on Linux worth mentioning. Making it "compilable on Mono" is no trivial task. You mention it like it's the easiest thing in the world. The source code has been organized to make this type of job easier, so if you want it on Mono then go port it. I recon that this was ordered by MS to monopolise Windows/.Net even more... Why are you saying these things? Sorry it doesn't work for you, but you're going way out in left field with these comments. Rick Brewster
Why are you posting that? That article is full of technical inaccuracies, and it's apparent that the guy doesn't even understand how Windows applications work. The guy doesn't even spell my name correctly. First he says we include VisualStyle's code. Then he says we don't. Could he make up his mind? All we do is use their DLL, which anybody can do. We also don't include the source code for kernel32.dll. I guess we're "not open source". Stay on topic, and stop posting junk articles.
