Sneakyninj
I'm very new to Paint.Net and really just looking to use it as a means to make .BMPs for programming. It seems Paint.Net automatically saves .BMPs as 24-bit, which is 16 million colors and way more than I need. Does anyone know of a way to change the bit depth to 8-bit or even 4-bit? Thanks
Rick Brewster
This is not currently possible in the latest release of Paint.NET. It will only save BMP's at 24-bit. Sneakyninj
Great, thanks BoltBait. Any plans on adding that feature in a future release Rick?
BoltBait
I believe that saving 256 color BMP files will be added soon. I think I saw it on a roadmap somewhere... can't find it now, though.
