Picc84
I would love to get into programming languages. I want to more or less learn something, that will allow me to create Windows programs and games. I have a tutorial for C# Thanks to the Wikibook on it, but I have no idea what complier I need, and if thats even the right language for the job. Myrddin
Same here, although mine would be for plugins really. Also have the same problem: which language to learn for my need. usedHONDA
Visual Studio C# Experss '05 is (basically) all you need to create C Sharp programs. Optionally, you would probably want Vista Ultimate/XP Professional to do your programming on. EDIT@2nd post: Go for C#! EDIT2: Well, if you want to make Yahoo! Widgets or the like, it may be better to learn Java. Picc84
If your going to make PDN Pluginns, you need to learn C# and get the complier off of http://www.microsoft.com The Express Editions are free...
Myrddin
Or codelab? Looking on a few other threads just now, it appears easy once the you've got to grip with the language (not saying coding is easy, just saying that codelab may be the easier option for a plugin purpose). But thanks for that uH and Picc. Quote How to Save Your Images under Different File Types My dA Gallery

usedHONDA
Yeah, it should be kinda like learning how to type on a keyboard. The first lesson may go by easily, then by the 5th you feel like it'll be impossible. But somehow you get the hang of it and you become a "master" typist. usedHONDA
The Coding Project and MSDN are the best places for C# tuts. pcgeekman
If you can make stuff easier in C#, then does that mean its not that flexible as C++?
Picc84
Well If in the end, you find C# not being able to work with what you want, If you have alarday learned the coding, I would think that you can easily expand to C++
