yes thanks I've searched thru that one and don't find the answer so I'll do my own testing. that forum isn't near as user friendly as this one. nor as informative.

That does look sexy..

This looks sexier though imo. If only it wasn't a concept..

 That is the sexiest music player ever. WANT. (too bad it's a design, like you said. :x )

I would totally lose one ( just one ) of the controller attachments.

ODD: It's easier to write F# code without syntax highlighting, Intellisense, etc. In other words, in Notepad. Which is nice, 'cause my poor computer can barely handle VS2010.

Get quick and instant access to your content with multi-touch navigation...

I thought multi-touch screens were patented by Apple?

The Zune HD has been officially announced! Soooo sexy, I'm getting it! :o

I saw it, too. It looks like some high-end touchscreen Vertu :)

I wonder if Sony will be making a new mp3 player to compete with Microsoft and Apple. :?: If so, I hope it can share stuff with the PS3 ;)

Sony already has an OLED touchscreen Walkman (looks pretty good, too)

Far from it. Multitouch screens have been around since the 80s, and capacitive touch screens have had patents as early as '94 (from my shallow research).

Oh. I just assumed, since no other major company seemed to be implementing them, and then I heard a rumor or something...

That looks incredible. It has a very weighty, industrial look, and I love it.

I've been considering the Zune for a while, ever since the 2nd Generation Zunes came out, with the squircle and the more stark interface - the first gen Zune interface seemed pretty "meh", but the second gen interface is awesome, with its deliberately minimalistic, oversized text. I've played around with a 2nd G Zune a bit, and wheeling around the interface with the squircle is pretty cool - I imagine pushing it around with a finger would be even cooler. ;)

I'm not quite sold yet - I'll have to see how the player application itself looks and what the browser can do - having IE as the only option sounds like torture, but we'll see.

Yeah, it is an awesome word. ;)

It's a real shape though, and a word I've seen used to describe the tap-pad on the 2nd gen Zunes before, which is why I used it.

Update: I went searching, and Gizmodo has a video that shows the interface and how it interacts. Looks basically like the 2nd gen interface, just flicking around on the screen itself instead of the touch pad - all in all, looks pretty dang slick. I'm basically sold, I'm just holding out for capacity/pricing information.

Man, this is a blow...

Ars Technica[/url]":36byu3p5]Web browser: A full Web browser will be included.

...

Microsoft tells us it is a "version of IE 6 that has been highly customized and optimized for multitouch."

Hi, you haven't seen me in a while, eh? Not sure why, exactly. I just thought I'd post this here, as it can't go in in the rants thread. My grandad just died. A couple of days ago, he was leaning forward to press the forward button on his mobility scooter to get it in his house, and he accidentally pressed reverse. He was knocked flying backwards into the railings behind him, and 5 of his ribs were broken. He was in an unstable state for the next two days in hospital, but today they had to let him go. I hope he's in peace.
