I was merely 'trying' to joke around. I'm not making fun of them, nor do I hate them - they're great. :lol:

And about the band - friggin' awesome, some of my favorite bands you pointed out there. GRUNGE/ALTERNATIVE IS TEH WIN!

Oh sorry, I misinterpreted that joke :D .

Awsome someone else into the Grunge scene. Even though that scene died about the time when i was born, i still love it.

In C# it would be:

MessageBox.Show("Error message", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Exclamation);

make sure at the top of your file to put:

using System.Windows.Forms;

More info here: MessageBox which includes VB examples.

Actually not true.

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

...I dont think its neccesary to know the history of something if you want to believe in it, in some cases. Does not knowing who designed the Australian flag make you non-Australian?
You make an excellent point, LJXD. I cannot, nor want to, find an argument against that.

From my own experience, most who have brandished that symbol do so quite naively, saluting it as a fashion statement, something less than it actually is. The symbol has also suffered at the hands of overextension, used as the symbol of overall peace, which, whilst it did serve a peace movement, it was only one movement, not every.

I agree, there is a whole lot of people with those type of earing/necklces ect with that symbol. But wouldnt know what the Vietnam war was or even know whats going down in the Middle East. Most of my classmate think its "Just a bunch of Muslims gone mental", absolutely shameful :roll: .

Woodstock is my home town, and as you can imagine, these things are everywhere. But along with just the signs, I'm pretty sure most of Woodstock's inhabitants are aware of the origin of the peace sign. In the green (center of town), some of Woodstock's most popular hobos (and sometimes even Grandpa Woodstock!) hold up signs concerning the war, any war, even if it was long gone. "Honk for peace" is the most popular one, and I know it's in other places besides Woodstock, but the clothes these men (and sometimes women) wear. They are in rags, but they still manage to find as many peace symbols as they can and hang them around their neck and arms. Whether the symbols these homeless acquire are stolen or donated to them or whatever, it still drives home a point.

Edit: Reading that over, I realized I kind of strayed off the real Vietnam/peace sign topic. Just letting you know that I noticed. :D

My understanding of the Peace / Ban the Bomb symbol is as the CND (Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament) & is the semaphore letters CND squashed together.

Nice sig btw LJXD :)

Son, someday you will make a girl happy for a short period of time. Then she'll leave you & be with men that are ten times

better than you can imagine. These men are called musicians. :D

Sometimes things have a way of taking on a life of their own. It is absolutely correct that the symbol came out of England as a Nuclear Defense logo. It took on it's own life here in the USA because of Woodstock. Young people here were protesting the Vietnam war and it became their symbol. As far as the "broken cross" anti-Christian thing... that's just a rumor that was never substantiated.

I graduated from High School in 1962. I was there.
