Rick Brewster
someone edit it down to OMA speak please.... As long as you bought your computer after 1999 (Intel) or 2002 (AMD), it'll be fine. Paint.NET v4 won't really require more "oomph", I'm just requiring a certain CPU feature so that I can maintain the performance of the program. Put another way, I'm simply removing support for very old computers. I'm not increasing the strain I'm putting on other ones. oma
thanks Rick I'm OK then. I've a Hp Pavilion s7220n Slimline PC , purchased after 2000. Sometimes I get confused with the tech jargon and just wanted to be sure. I just love this program. Thanks for the quick response and thanks 100 million billion times for the program. Myrddin
... which is why i prefer BBC over ITV...I also prefer the BBC over ITV. Despite that, we wouldn't have to pay as much for the Television Licence if the Beeb would introduce commercial advertisement for television (not sure if that already exists for BBC Radio, I don't do radio. Whatever the case, the Licence would still have to be paid for radio broadcasts). The average licence is >£130 per annum, out of that 67% is expended towards televisual broadcasts. With commercial advertisements funding that, the average would dramatically drop to only <£43. In today's world, that extra £87 a year would be rather nice to keep. There are both advantages and disadvantages to the Licence, and whilst they keep it I'm happy for it. Without it, I'd be even happier monetarily-speaking. ---- I now say "Thank you" to my DT teacher all the time and it really does drive him round the bend.Perhaps I'm missing something, but around my area, teachers are grateful when genuinely thanked. Mayhap it's the manner by which you thank him that's making him want to smash your head against the wall. Or cry. Simon Brown
I have written a simple program to help determine if a user's computer fits the requirements described to run PDN4 in 32bit mode. Note that it doesn't check for SSE support as I am unsure how to do this. It also does not check HDD space and .NET version, as these can be changed relativly easily. Edit: I have just realised that I have accidently developed the program for .NET 3.5. PDNFourReady.zip
Myrddin
It also does not check HDD space and .NET version, as these can be changed relativly easily.Include checking them as well if you're going to do something like this. Some users might not know how to check for themselves, so when using this they can do with the one application.Edit: I have just realised that I have accidently developed the program for .NET 3.5.Well, that's one sure way of telling the user they don't have .NET 3.5 .EDITED: cleaning up. See my rant for why. Quote How to Save Your Images under Different File Types My dA Gallery
Rick Brewster
Note that it doesn't check for SSE support as I am unsure how to do this. If Paint.NET v3.36 is installed, using PaintDotNet.SystemLayer; bool hasSSE = Processor.IsFeaturePresent(ProcessorFeature.SSE); bool hasDotNet35SP1 = OS.IsDotNetVersionInstalled(3, 5, 1, true); (Bear in mind these are to treated as Paint.NET "internal" functions. Don't use them in your plugins or other code.) usedHONDA
It seems that I'm finding so many useful websites all of a sudden, it's hard to keep track of. Just yesterday, I finally joined Twitter, a great little place to post life updates with ease. About a week ago, I discovered Everything, a program that can search for any item in your hard drive with no lag. About the same time, I found Oosah, a great place to store your files (a full terabyte of space reserved for you). And then there's Bugmenot and Retailmenot, useful little sites for things like temporary email addresses, usernames and passwords to sites that you normally need to register for, and promo codes for eCommerce sites like Amazon But one of the greatest things I've found is Ping.fm. It's basically an update central for social networks. With a few keystrokes an the push of a button, I can update my Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Pownce, LiveJournal, WordPress, and Blogger simultaneously. If I wanted, I could even do it through AIM, Google Talk, or Yahoo Messenger by IMing my update to their respective IM accounts. [by the way, Ping.fm supports far more sites, but those are the only ones I have an account for thus far] Quote "The greatest thing about the Internet is that you can write anything you want and give it a false source." ~Ezra Pound twtr | dA | tmblr | yt | fb

Andrew D
My first Graphics assignment went down pretty well, apart from printing 5 copies off trying to make it so it wouldn't cut half the damn thing off Anyways, here it is: http://i34.tinypic.com/mku6no.jpg (Picture is easier and has more pros than cons IMO) I have just realised that I have accidently developed the program for .NET 3.5. Blooper
I just hate people like that. And people who pay £15 for a t-shirt, £20 for a hoodie almost weekly, straighten their hair and buy the necessary accessories (pointless bag, useless bike) to keep up with what Topman is saying we should all wear, and so look just like everyone else. C'mon, where's your individuality, people? You all look like little clones! There's plenty of individuality going on even in the same brand. I'd give you pictures as examples if I could, but I don't have them. Just accept it, it's a fact. Myrddin
ok I know I should have put a thumb picture I know how to do photobucket to a thumb usnint the " th_ " but how do you do imageshack? http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6270. Number 6 .When you come to find the sharing codes, there will be a field for forum thumbnails. If you want the little trick, then you need to insert '.th.' before the file type extension, like so (look towards the end): You still place it within the img section of the code. Does that help you oma? EDITED: it would have helped if I indicated why I posted this straight after Rick's post, when mine has no obvious relevance.
