Ash
I don't want to buy a Sony or Dell or HP because the computers come with 5000 programs and stickers and it's ridiculous. They need 8 tray icons just to enable all the hardware functionality. The MacBook just kinda works. I wasn't going to get an Air, just the regular MacBook with 13.3", 2.4ghz, 2gb RAM, 160gb HD. It wouldn't be my primary machine. Oh and it's a business expense, and thus tax deductible I use Sony SZ650N/C, one of the most awesome laptop for the size. Yes, comes with too much bloody potato installed, just need to clean it up a bit. pyrochild
I believe that Gateway computers tend to come with the least amount of bloatware. Gateways used to be fully craptastic, but they've been stepping up their game lately. I always just wipe the OS on any new computers I get and install stuff myself. Much faster without all the bloatware, most of which can never be fully uninstalled. Quote ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! HITMAN-X-
Rick as much as I want a Mac myself I would not buy a MacBook because of hardware. I would if I did not know but I do know thanks to The Lab with Leo. If your MacBook has a min hardware problem and you need to send it back to be fixed, Mac will not fix it but replace the part and make you pay for the full part, labour, shipping, and what not. I still remeber that episode. The guy was told by 2 computer shops that it would cost him about $40 -$50 to fix his motherboard. Mac told him it would cost like $400. Guy finds out that instead of fixing the problem Mac just replaces the part to save time. For that reason I would not get a MacBook but a Mac desktop. Now I not saying it a bad thing to get a whole new part but if it going to cost that much more then no I would not want to pay it but have it fix. If you do order a laptop, make sure they give you the OS on disk !. That what I do just so I can format the bloody potato they put on reinstall new and grab any updates or drivers for things like wifi from there site. Andrew D
Well, I got Half-Life. And sure it is amazing. One downside however, the 360 controller I use to play with it often completely messes the controls up, meaning I either play turning all the time, or I play with the keyboard and mouse, which I generally dislike. Rubrica
Visual Web Developer. *puts on observation glasses* Ooh, very nice! How on earth did I miss this wonderful tool! And for those DW fans, my observation glasses look just like the ones the Doctor uses sometimes. I can't remember an episode he used them, bbut they look identical to these: http://curbsideprophecies.files.wordpre ... lasses.jpg
Simon Brown
Visual Web Developer. *puts on observation glasses* Ooh, very nice! How on earth did I miss this wonderful tool! But please take note of the concerns posted afterwards - (ie: don't expect to be able to create a website, write some C# code, link it with an SQL database and host with Zymic). Mike Ryan
Rubrica may say that he's nine NINE! I THOUGHT HE WAS THIRTEEN!!!!!!! Well, Rubrica, you act very mature for your age. Stellar member, if I must say so myself.
livewrong811
@SAB-Is that remotely related to what I just said? Edit: Mike Ryan, you broke two rules in that post ( ). And, also, did you ever consider reading his User Profile page?
pyrochild
Yes, actually, it is. You said that Rubrica is 9. Mike thought he was 13. Mike pointed out that Rubrica is even younger than he had originally thought. How is that not related? EDIT: Besides, this is the offtopic thread. Even if the world did revolve around everything you say somewhere else, this thread is certainly the exception. pyrochild
And, also, did you ever consider reading his User Profile page? Riiiiight... 'cause we all have nothing better to do than just go read the User Profile for all 8732 members on this forum. I doubt most people here have even seen Rick's profile page, much less Rubrica's.
