DarkShock
Hey guys. usedHONDA and other members here from Florida might no be on today because the power might have go out for them. I think most of North Florida might not have any power even though I'm close to where usedHONDA is. I think the power for me might go out soon. Simon Brown
The easiest way to find people who don't believe in MMGW is to look in the BBC News website comments section.
pyrochild
Damn global warming messin' with the order of things. Global warming is the order of things. Global warming would be happening right now, whether humans exist or not. WHY must us humans insist that preserving the planet in exactly the same state as it was when we first showed up is the right thing to do? Change is the natural order of the universe. Who are we to try and halt it? The Earth has been constantly changing since it first came into being, and will continue to change until it eases to exist. By which time mankind will either be long extinct, or have colonized and settled on other planets. I'm not saying that pumping our atmosphere full of bloody potato that doesn't belong there isn't a bad thing, and that we should just continue doing it. 'Cause it's a bad thing, and we should not continue doing it. When I go to California - or even Denver during the summer - in certain places, I can barely breathe. Smog is bleaghhh. But global warming would be happening even if we had never discovered that burning fossil fuels is a powerful source of energy. I mean, honestly. Any difference we're making in the matter is extremely marginal. Cows belching contributes to global warming far more than fossil fuels, and even that is an extremely small part of what's causing it. The point I'm trying to make is that global warming is just part of the natural life cycle of our planet. And I don't see why people are making such a big deal out of it. david.atwell
There are many hundreds of scientists and meteorologists who agree with you, pyrochild. I happen to agree, as well; I think it's ridiculous to imagine that us pitiful humans have the ability to destroy the robust ecosystem of an entire planet. I haven't seen any satisfactory proof that we're causing global warming. Not that I want to keep polluting - I like clean air as much as the next guy - I just don't like Al Gore's religion. And that's what it is, too. They even excommunicate nonbelievers from the scientific community. Besides, there's considerable evidence that we're currently on our way out of an ice age - so a thawing is pretty normal, and should be followed within the next million years or so by a subsequent cooldown. Mike Ryan
I believe that we have currently gained the power to destroy the ecosystem and it was evident when humans had the ability to overcome work. If we can create thousands of things without even touching them, we have done something wrong as a race. And besides, going green doesnt necassarily mean you are trying to be a 'save the environment' man. I wrote a blog post along time ago about this when I went green, and I love it. Yeah, that was kinda inevitable, so I didn't fight it ----- Oh, and now that we're on the subject of global warming, there have been some radical things happening over the last few days concerning C02 (sorry, no subscript). The good ol' guys at the Los Alamos National Laboratory has discovered a low-cost, low-risk way to convert C02 gasses into sulfer-free organic chemicals useful for automobile fuel in the future.
