Myself not included, either. But we could probably cobble something together.

I don't know. How much interest is there in making the Plugins area into a community project?

@BB: Good luck with the officially-sponsored slacking. :-)

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Hey guys. Have an idea for a request.

Request: To make a new window in which you can put in effects that you frequently use as a shortcut. You can put up to maybe 10 effects that you use a lot.

How does it sound?

Makes things easier instead of navigating though the effects.

Wait until the Messiah Version. I believe it's planned for then (Rick said in a blog post).

Or a quick search function at the top of the eeffects list.

@ Ash: we dont need to remove the old plugin section, just lock it

@ BB: I am talking about large scale integration here. I will talk more about my ideas when I am not on my phone.

Personally, I dont think we need to sit here and pressure Rick into making downloadable plugin packs or a plugin hosting site.

...

*Ends rant/ heroic statement

Whoa, who said anything about pressuring?!

I was only offering a suggestion, nay, and expansion of someone else's suggestion - with accompanying case, I might add. I think I did clearly claim they were merely ideas, not demands. When have ever demanded of or pressured someone, let alone Rick? I am of at least a few of the considerations Rick has to take into account regarding Paint.NET and its affiliations, and that he has a regular life to lead, I would never begin to pressure ideas upon him, ever. What do you take me for, one of these random n00bs who have come onto these here Forums and gallivanted their opinions about which direction Paint.NET should be taken in because they feel they preach the Gospel of graphic software programming, after only five minutes of use? Perspective, please.

Was that a bit too serious? I should have toned and condensed it down, into, what... one sentence? That might have been best. Was what you even said directed at me?

That would be very handy. And I'm not just saying that to lighten the atmosphere, that would be a good feature.

@ Myrddin: Though I quoted you, that statement was more or less a shout at the entire community concerning all of the comments. Sorry if you were offended

@ Darkshock: He is refferring to v4.0

@ Community: This is my idea for a plug hosting site:

First, you would have to create an account listing your directory to Paint.NET, as well as a username and password and what not. This would allow for a quick install of plugins as a simple installer could be created for each different directory.

On the front page would be similar to something you would find at a torrent tracker. There would be the top ten most downloaded plugins of the day, as well as the top ten most downloaded plugins ever.

Each plugin would have its each individual page. On this page would be the information of the plugin, changelog, a five star rating system influenced by user feedback, a comment system, as well as a report bug function.

For plugin developers: Upload would be easy. Simple FTP services would allow you directly upload a plugin with an accomponing text file to describe the plugin, or to update the changelog.

I know it sounds like a lot, but I think we can do it. It isnt necassarily anything new, but it will be a major upgrade to the current format of publishing plugins.

@MR, What advantage does that have over the current system?

a lot. More user feedback, a better rating system, easy file upload, more presentable, not a forum, and a lot more. The entire system I am proposing is focused on the downloader, and not the uploader as is the case with the current plugin system.

Yeah, I thought I came across a little too heavy in my defence...

Although it may have seemed it, no offence taken, Mike :).

Should I lock this page to stop the flood of "700th page!!!1!111one!!!eleven!" posts? ;-)

I could lock it, post twenty blank posts, and then unlock it. :-)
