Mike Ryan
That is true about the admin and what not. I think MBL is against the seperate forum thing anyway. Edit: I was right.

Simon Brown
If we go for this forum how will we keep things secret. Teams need a place to discuss their entry. Or would that be up to them to organise?
MattBlackLamb
Group emails or PM's, group IM discussions, IRC channels, there are loads of options. There's no need to go nuts. Edit, if there are a set number of teams then there could be x number of IRC / dAmn channels set up, one for each team. How team members communicated would be, ultimately, up to the members of the team. Quote dA Son, someday you will make a girl happy for a short period of time. Simon Brown
Forums are better, with IRC and IM you have to be online at the time and its not easy to share info. With PM and email you can only contact one person at a time.

The entry thread can still be hosted on this site, however.
MattBlackLamb
With PM and email you can only contact one person at a time. Wrong, I can send an email that says the same thing to all of the contacts I have if I want to, the same applies to Pm's My point is that email just isn't designed for long-winded discussion between tonnes of people. I may create a seperate (private) forum for my group.

Wrong, I can send an email that says the same thing to all of the contacts I have if I want to, the same applies to Pm's I am just not sure. With polls, public announcements, seperate threads, PM, and email all in this environment of a competition would be better imo than just PM and email. Simon Brown
I still think a private forum for each group is the way to go. Is this just for one competition or a string of them?

MattBlackLamb
Right, to keep things manageable, teams would be limited to two people, they can then communicate however they wish. Simon Brown
Right, to keep things manageable, teams would be limited to two people, they can then communicate however they wish. That defeats the object of teams. Especially if a pro is teamed with a noob. ---- Edit: As I have been trying to tell you, Helio, the MSC has reached the deadline. Mike Ryan
^^^^ ^^^^ I couldnt agree more*. A pro with a Noob will drive the pro mad. Oh well, if you are against it MBL, then I have no say in it *I am agreeing a lot with Sabrown lately
Simon Brown
How does it defeat the idea? Because the whole point of teams is to team up different tallents - not so effective with only two people.
MattBlackLamb
Right, I wash my hands of the whole thing, you guys do what you want, but don't involve me this is just annoying me & I'm not in the mood to argue with people. I hope you all have fun with my idea, all I want is not to be bugged about it constantly, or at all. Quote dA Son, someday you will make a girl happy for a short period of time.
