Oh right, not only was I arguing about pickles and kimchi, I was arguing against MYSELF!

"Arguing With Myself" is the name of a Jeff Dunham comedy special. Hilarious.

Jeff Dunham is absolutely hilarious. He's the best ventriloquist ever!

Wow, Rick. So, when are you inviting us all over to see it? :-)

Holy wow man. Comparing Casino Royale on DVD versus Blu-ray on this thing ... there's just no comparison. DVD looks like a stretched up YouTube video.

Rick, you alright? I thought it burned you to post here! :P

Nah, I generally just don't have enough time to participate in these threads!

No problem, my dad happen to teach in a video arts undergrad school, so I'm pretty used to all this stuff.

By the way, I think I will be one of the last to by a 1600*1200 screen.

Sorry, no money for a 1920*1080 screen >_<.

No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio

I've been pondering the idea of a new dA deviation series for me. It'll be all based on the song

(and maybe a few other Linkin Park songs). I just thought it would be cool. For example, a wallpaper-sized collage of pictures and a few lines of "What I've Done" in the bottom-right corner. Guaranteed favorites.

With a 4:3 1600x1200 screen, widescreen movies will still have enormous letterboxing. So a 1920x1200 screen actually shows a significantly larger widescreen image.

My birthday is coming up and my wife asked me what I wanted...

I asked for a HD-DVD player. 8)

Costco has one for $249 that looks pretty good. That should go nicely with my Sony Wega 42" widescreen.

Only one problem. My favorite movie is not available in HD. (I do have the SuperBit version so all is not lost.)

Hmmm... and its by Sony Pictures, so it will probably go Blu-Ray. :(

Working on the wallpaper...

I've been on flickr searching for pictures under the CC No-Comm-Use license related to negative things. So far I have:

A picture of the Swastika

Grafiti

The intersection of "Dead End" and "Memory Lane"

A picture of flour to give the effect of cocaine

A sign that shows a stick figure putting a heart into a trash can (you can figure it out)

The Twin Towers

A separate picture of a plane (slightly overlapping the Twin Towers picture)

A sign in Iran supporting Ahmadinejad (with a rainbow behind him)

A large group of American troops

A troop shaking hands with a 6 year old Iraqi child

Another troop next to a car with an Iraqi in it (possibly asking for his driver's license)

Yeah, it's suddenly focusing on the Middle East, but I can't help it :)

I'm compiling them in Inkscape, using Paint.NET for cropping and adjustments. Once exported from Inkscape, I'll add some black borders around the pictures and then the text.

And someone is going to want to see all these dreary, morose things every time they use the computer?

Have you looked on Wikimedia Commons or MorgueFile? They both contain free, GDFL, or CC licensed images.

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
