Laptops have never been built for heavy use, gaming or otherwise. Yes, you may get some high specifications for one but it'll never match up to a tower system with it's version of high specifications.

On the road to one-thousand posts, do you think I should do something noob-like and start a new topic to declare this achievement?

Yup. I would. In fact, I'm already planning the party!

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

For the best gaming experience, on the latest games, you need a big screen (19' and more become usual these days), and high-end hardware (processor, graphics card ...).

These high-end components generate heat, A LOT of heat.

Something like 60°C (150°F) inside a PC running box is quite correct.

A laptop, on the opposite side, is optimized to generate as less heat as possible, so you won't burn your fingers, and to consume very few power, to save battery life.

So usually, inside a laptop, there is less powerful hardware, especially graphic cards.

No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio

I have to be on the road a lot, so I got a laptop that had a good blance between portability & power. (at the time)

Sony Vaio VGN-S170B

With an ATI 9700m chip inside...I can do almost anything.

But it's getting kinda dated... :?

uH is right tho....this bady did cost more then $1600 :?

But I do all my work, art, media, games on the road so much, I'd say it's worth it :P

I log out for two minutes to get dinner, and you posted in at least 5 different threads here jerkfight! :D

Well, ill be leaving in a few minutes. I might pop in for a little bit every once in a while. Who knows, nonstop gaming with a new directx 10 graphics card might get boring.
