I am sorry that Jim is upset, and totally understand, but hope that this will blow over soon and be gone.

I also hate the new photobucket format and have chosen to keep the old one :scanner: .

I really must not drink and go on forums ... I don't remember Rep'ing BB

After noticing my 12 months broadband contract was up I phoned my phone and IS provider hoping for a bit of a deal like they gave last year.

The result - half price line rental, half price unlimited broadband and free evening and weekend calls for 12 months.  A saving of £240.  The moral - if you don't ask - you don't get

Although I was shocked to be told we use 50 gig a month between all the devices in the home  :scanner:

Shocked it was that high or shocked it was that low?

Shocked was a bit dramatic on my part.

Surprised may be a better word.  I was hoping it was below 40GB because it would be even cheaper every month.

I think I'll send my son down to live with Sasha for a few months

With a couple of teenagers in the house, it is really easy to do that amount. We used to be limited to 12 GB & while we came close to the limit, through careful management, we coped but now I think we have 100. Dunno really because I is old & forgetful or maybe I forget because it is irrelevant as we will not blow the download anyway.

Just goes to show that it pays to shop around. Hubby did that with the motorbike insurance. For about $200 pa we could get the bike insured for $3,500 which is about 1/4 of its value. We rang Shannons which is touted as a specialist/antique/rare vehicle insurer as we were told they would insure for agreed value. Just why then did the bird on the phone with the first insurer ask me if I wanted market or agreed value?? So less than $100 gets $12,000 worth of insurance.

Edit: Welshy commented as I was typing.

Hmmm, 2 teenagers together would more than double the usage I would think :P

Insurance companies ... where to start.  But that's a great deal.  I bet the first one you rang could have given you a better one.

My son wants to start driving but the quotes are ridiculous.  Not sure how they expect kids to afford it.

A quote for my first car insurance (once I pass my test) will cost more than the car would be worth.

@  barbieq - I'm very responsible with internet use :|  I swear I only use 20 gig of it

@ Welshblue - I'm sure my Dad would tear his hair out with another teenager in the house, the thing he hates most about winter is his shed is too cold to escape to for a little bit of sanctuary

I know how your Dad feels ...

Just realised I've hit 4K and a few posts.

What a great place this is.  It almost keeps me sane

CREEEPY. I met a guy in a senior student cruise who is like a better version of me D:
1. he has curly hair; I had curly hair at about the same length until I had it cut 2 days ago
2. he wears thick-framed glasses similar to mine only rounder
3. he's gay too
4. he's atheist as well
5. he's vegan
6. he is an environmentalist like I am.
7. he is half-Turkish(Kurdish, close enough) from his father's side, half-Finnish from his mother's side like I am.
8. his mother teaches Swedish, so does mine.

If I got to know him better, things like his music taste etc. I bet I'd find even more similarity... EERIE
Too bad my poltergeist is better looking than I and more outgoing, too. :C

Just ate some salt and vinegar potato chips...reminds me of when I went to Wales back when I was eight. Walker's Potato Crisps were the best! Sweet memories :) Are they still popular across the pond?

Thank you Paint.net for making my life so much easier... If it were not for you I would have to shell out hundreds of dollars to buy software I refuse to buy because it cost hundreds of dollars and I am a cheaspskate. Hey I like to save money who doesn't? lol

But no seriously, I've used tons of photoshops and corels and god those programs just irk me BECAUSE they are so unbelievably massive and require computers only some place like MIT would have... I don't want a thousand dollar computer with software adding up to those thousands, I'd never be able to use it because I'd be working my self to death just trying to afford them...

Here's what I mean... I used Corel in 2007 to do a basic template for a race track I was trying to create, yes it worked and was a literal nightmare of epic proportions taking hours to do the most simple tasks...

mrocircuitrosdemo1f2000.jpg

... And now Paint.net comes into the picture... easy to use, small and doesn't take a lot of resources, expandable with so many effects available and can do so much with ease!! I finished the track that I couldn't do in a week over 6 years ago with Adobe Photoshop or corel... in about an hour and a half with Paint.net... and I've only been using it like a few months... I feel like slapping myself sometimes thinking why haven't I used PDN sooner? :(

/end rant

I think I might need one of <a data-cke-saved-href="http://www.theverge.com/2013/2/19/4004098/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-arrives-the-world-most-powerful-single-gpu" href="http://www.theverge.com/2013/2/19/4004098/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-arrives-the-world-most-powerful-single-gpu">these</a>.<br /><br />I think I'll just put it into my wish list and see if anyone wants to buy me a gift. <img data-cke-saved-src="http://forums.getpaint.net/public/style_emoticons/default/boltbait.wink.png" src="http://forums.getpaint.net/public/style_emoticons/default/boltbait.wink.png" class="bbc_emoticon" title=";)" />

The quick reply box hates me.
