usedHONDA
Within the past two days I've gotten two favs and four devWatches on DA... and I haven't uploaded anything in over a week! Cool. usedHONDA
Check this: I was flipping through the chanels and a saw Jepordy. And one of the categories was "Internet Insults". I was suprised at myself. Out of the five or six questions in that category, I only had one of them right- pebkac. I feel ashamed In other news, there was a really heavy storm that hit the area. Winds in excess of 50 MPH! I heard a fire truck in the appartment complex. Within all the action, the power went out. So after the storm I turned the computer back on and guess what? I can't start Firefox! Whenever I attempt to open it, it says: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." Here's the cach: There isn't another Firefox process open. Yup. I can't find it in the Task Manager or Process Explorer. So upon my research, I discover that the problem may be a file called "parent.lock" that needs to be deleted. 10 minutes later, I found the file in the depths of my Application Data folder. So when I attempted to delete it, it says: "Cannot delete parrent: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" So then I try to rename it and it gives basically the same error. So now I'm trapped in a box using Opera (I tried IE for a while, but got fed up with it's slow loading and giving slight frezes every-other page). Any suggestions on how to delete a corrupted file? Sozo
I was flipping through the chanels and a saw Jepordy. Ha, Opera= No spell check. Um, I'm guessing uninstall didn't work. I'm not sure how to fix the problem, other than reinstalling Firefox in a custom directory, if possible.
PineappleQc
Try rebooting in safe mod, that usually does the trick. I have been stuck with a corrupted Steam file once too, it really sucks. Otherwise than that, maybe try to do it through an anti-virus, but I doubt it'll do anything. usedHONDA
I've tried that, but still no luck. I'll probably have to go to an FF forum for this (or search Google for sevral hours to find that there's no hope). spike 121
did you try uninstalling it? man, i would just download the previous version and use that until the newer version came out Quote  "No. Dreaming is illegal."~Pyrochild
usedHONDA
I guess I'll just have to reinstall it... Just a while ago, I did some things that I've been wanting to do for a long time. I changed my Welcome screen and Boot Skin! I downloaded them from DA and edited the bitmaps in Paint.NET, so now I'm one step closer to the Vista experience! I'll post a new desktop screenshot in a bit... Myrddin
A new tutorial (created by an equally new user) uses Polar Inversion and there has been an influx of psychedelic Polar Inversions in the Pictorium, any connection to your sudden resentment? Andrew D
Oh, you mean the flooding of them type of pics in the Pictourium! That annoys me, espcially seeing how it's basically just a picture done using a plug-in. So, add me to that list.

Myrddin
I haven't downloaded it yet. Nor Portrait, I never saw a need for it. Or Tree Gen, or Rect-Polar / Polar-Rect, or RAW loader, or Seamless Texture anything, or Glass Orb Gen, or Jitter, or... I know it sounds like I don't have that many effects but the ones I download I usually need at the time (which invokes a restart mid-work) or see a possible future use, the ones listed above I see no need for as the results aren't my style. I mean no disrespect to the creators and I do find them very useful, cool and interesting but I won't use them so see no need to download yet. I will one day have this mass-download day where I install all the plugins I don't have. It's the same with tutorials, I can't tell you the last time I visited the tutorials section. EDIT: that day is now. Quote How to Save Your Images under Different File Types My dA Gallery

usedHONDA
While we're talking about Pictorium annoyances, I'll post one of my own: It annoys me that so many users post what BB calls "ashtray" pictures that were made purely by experimentation. They were made without even using the brush or line/curve tool-- just a whole bunch of random effects. The sad thing is that there are users with over 200 posts doing those types of images and they're just annoying to look at. I feel you're pain, BB. I feel your pain. Crazy Man Dan
http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... 5457#65457 http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... 5508#65508 http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... 5559#65559 All on Page 388... Now, I don't mean to insult the posters of the above images - They're simply the most recent ones. I don't have anything against Abstract art, but I believe art needs to be about something for it to mean anything. Using random effects until it looks cool equates to throwing paint at a canvas until you think it looks cool. Sure you could sell it, but not for much. That's the difference between a masterpiece and a random painting: Masterpieces end up in The Louvre, random pieces end up in Arby's. (I love Arby's by the way, I just hate the paintings on their walls.) When I go to make a new piece, if I don't have a clear idea where I want to go or what I want it to look like when I'm done, I usually don't end up saving it because it looks like I didn't know where I wanted to go or what I wanted it to look like when I was done. Whereas when you have a vision and you're willing to take the time to see that vision through, you end up with some incredible works that leave people gape-eyed and speechless. That's what art is really about anyway. Crazy Man Dan
@CMD: Cool. We just made the same point, but yours sounds nicer and has links. Sorry, didn't mean to double-up on post-point. I had started typing before you posted. Arby's has paintings on the walls?Must be a Wisconsin thing... Sure sure. Make fun oh mah state. Yeah, they're just these paintings composed of random streaks of pastel paint. The paint thickness is different along the lines, so it looks as if the "painter" just dipped the brush and flicked their wrist. Oh! But some of the streaks are metallic gold! <_< Market-Fresh sandwich FTW! I'm thinking Arby's again...
