I saw this car driving down the street the other day:

I was going to take a picture of it. After all, "turnabout is fair play."

I've passed a couple of those (they seem to appear much more frequently the closer you get to Mountain View, CA) but I couldn't take a photo of any of them. The ones I've encountered were a little more subtle though, with just the red ball on top and none of this vinyl car decal nonsense.

I am sorry Rick for interrupting your post.

I just want to apologize to Simon Brown and Ed Harvey, I am really feeling so embarrassed on how I didn't noticed that it was their birthdays same day as Welshblue, Posted on this thread, don't know how to recover my mistake, so sorry guys, wish you both, a great happy coming year.

i think you should still make it for XP, a lot of people still use XP. I for one uses it and is the only system i use. so i'll be unable to update :/

Not gonna happen. By the time PDN4 is released, XP will be over 10 years old. Name one other piece of software or hardware you still use from 2001. And I've given you (and everyone else of course) plenty of notice on this requirement (2 years worth!).

Wooo hoooo! The Plugin Index has surpassed half a million page views!

Retrospectively, I want to ask users for just NZ50cents per page view. Then I can retire and become a full-time Paint.Net Mod B)

Does anyone here know how to fifth (?) a line that is drawn with two vanishing points, but STILL true to scale?

This image here is what I'm talking about. Line A is 5 m long and I need to split it into 5 1m parts, but those have to be still in perspective. I've tried and failed to do it with body diagonals..

I'm not sure the diagram helps me understand what you are after.

Back in the day I used this technique when Tech Drawing to divide a line (AB):

1. Draw a line from one end of line AB in some arbitrary direction other than the line itself. Lets call this AC as it shares point A with the original line AB.

2. Divide AC into five segments using any scale that reasonably fits the image. Lets call the points on AC line A, AC1, AC2, AC3, AC4 & C.

3. Connect point C with point B (forms triangle ABC).

4. Draw lines parallel to CB through each of the other points on AC (AC1, AC2, AC3 & AC4). Presto line AB is divided into segments.

Now I know you're going to say... "Yes, but that's not what I want!" This technique is applicable to your situation (I think) if you divide a line that is a ray from the RHS vanishing point then use rays from the LHS to transform the points back to line A. Maybe a diagram will help - see attached:

1. Draw a line from LHS vanishing point through A to arbitary point C.

2. Draw from C to RHS vanishing point.

3. Draw line from LHS through B to the new line = D.

4. Divide line CD into 5 segments using technique above (or just measure it and divide).

5. Draw the rays between LHS and the divisions on CD to divide AB into 5.

Is that what you're after?
