A huge loss to the music world with the death of Etta James today.

R.I.P Etta ... many thanks for the hours of listening pleasure that's your legacy ...

WHAT? ETTA JAMES DIED?

In all honesty, I wasn't aware she was still alive. Nevertheless she was a great talent and a huge influence to many artists.

Quick question for you to puzzle over.

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?

Can you give an answer that would beat it? (I will be the judge of that)

The immovable objects stays in place and the unstoppable force continues its movement.

True. She was on both counts mate. Listening to Etta James on vinyl with headphones on is always a treat. Bitter sweet tonight ...

@ NinjaMandan' ... an explosion/ shattering ?

The unstoppable force continues moving at the same spped, but in an opposite vector direction; technically, it has not stopped, but rebounded. The immovable object does not change velocity or position.

@welsh

no, no explosion/shattering

@Rubrica

No, unstoppable as in not stopped or made to change direction, it must keep going the same way.

@EER

You are closest but not quite there. Good guest though!:lol:

There is no such a thing in the universe, but philosophically, time will stop and and the event will leak infinite energy, no doubt that would be God.!

Uh...no! The immovable object is in the way of the unstoppable force

Why can't the unstoppable force go through the immovable object?

Unless of course the immovable object was moving so fast it's atoms were vibrating at such a fast pace it would be able to phase through the unbreakable object.

If the force were made up of waves it could pass through the object with ease (such as sound waves travelling through a piece of paper). I guess it depends how dense the immovable object is, and what kind of material the unstoppable force is.

I know I'm probably wrong on this - but I just figured I'd through it out there :P

So I bought myself a pair of jeans the other day. Bright red women's skinny jeans that fit perfectly (only $15!).

Seriously, the guy's section is so boring. I'm not g**, I just want a better color palette when I go out >_>

..and that's my "off topic" post of the day.

EDIT: wait...has the PDN forums always censored that word? Heh...

Agreed about clothes and shoes

As my kids - girl/ stress causer (13) - boy/man/ sometimes total idiot (17) like pointing out ... I'm 45 so what do I know about fashion. They forget I was young once and used to buy clothes from companies advertised in indie music magazines. There used to be a lot of good stuff never seen in mainstream stores. Could be worth a look ?

Yes, but when (overall) I compare the cost of the female fashions to the male side of the store, I get sticker shock ...

That selection literally comes at a price.

Now, I will say having irregular dimensions (odd inseam to waist ratio and a long torso, large hat size, wide feet) that I find my shopping to be a nightmare regardless unless I go custom/tailored. Then I'm on the other end of the mulla spectrum.

Even though I dont want to put a bunch of indo-chinese children out of work (no I really dont, everyone's got to eat), I want my sci-fi machine that makes custom clothing already. Or at least a cheap online equivalent service ...

My eldest daughter (who is 12 going on to be soon 13) now wants to dress more "teen" Shopping with (and for) her is a nightmare, that is something I find hard to say being a "shopaholic" myself. As welshblue said we was young once (I still am, I'm only 32 and 3/4) There is still some unique clothing to be found in the high street (location depending of course) local clothing outlets have some cool stuff (not sure if a 30+ can say "cool" anymore) :D

And good for you UsedHonda, if your comfortable in them - why not wear them. :)
