How do I use the Magic Wand?

I dont know how to use the magic wand???

What do I set the tollerence to? and how do I get it to select ONLY the area I want?

Also what does it do? and what kind of things can I do with it?

The magic wand selects an area of the same color you click on. If you set the tolerance higher, then it will select more. If you set it lower, it will select less. 100 selects all and 0 selects only exactly that color.

If you want to select an area, use the Lasso Select.
