Default tool at startup

First I want to say that Paint.NET is an excellent program. If only it would work on platforms other than Windows (I know, I know, not likely, but we can dream...)

I just have one slight annoyance:

Paint.NET always starts up with the paintbrush tool selected.

Very often when starting up I see the cross-hair cursor, forgetting that this is the paintbrush, and try to select a region of the image, resulting in a line being drawn across it.

I think it would be nicer if it was a non-destructive tool such as the rectangle select.

Is there any chance of getting this changed?

You can select some default start up values
