juraj
I've included an example 40 kb .pdn file: http://www.crimson-imperium.org/files/bug.pdn Open the file and examine layers. Layer 3 should be selected by default. Move it down once, and notice how layer 2 disappeared from the layer list. If you can't reproduce the bug, try a few more times. If you click on the space where the missing layer should be, the layer name and the visilbility check box will appear but the thumbnail will not. In case you can't even then reproduce the bug, this is how it looks. http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/4112/untitled5mg1.png In the marked spot should be the layer 2. Tested on Paint.NET v2.5 (Beta 4 Release build 2.5.2115.35521) on multiple computers.
Crazy Man Dan
I remember getting that exact same buggy redraw in v2.1 releases, but I have not noticed it in v2.5. Even with the example .pdn you provided, my machine does not reproduce this. When I move it, the small preview window blanks for a bit, then re-draws itself. I know what you're talking about, because it's happened to me before. But I can't get it to do it again. Rick Brewster
What versions of Windows are on your systems? I've seen oddities on Windows Server 2003 in this area of the UI. I am also unable to reproduce this currently. juraj
I'm running Windows XP with service pack 1. This layer bug sometimes occurs, and sometimes it doesn't - it's random. Is there any way I could turn on some kind of debug mode to post the log here, like crash logs? After playing a bit with move layer up/down functions the bug always occurs. Rick Brewster
There's no crash, so there's no crash log ... and there's no debug mode or whatever that would give any more information. I'm still unable to repro this on 3 separate machines. Maybe your video card drivers are out of date -- I once updated drivers on this one system and it fixed some stuff related to Paint.NET.
