Problem with Text & transparent background

Recommended Posts

I created a png with brown text and then made the background transparent with the wand. (I had to click inside the "Bs" and such also). When I displayed the png on a blue background on a web page, all sorts of little white spots show around the letters spoiling the effect.

How can I get rid of the white?

Thanks,

Gary

Ahh yes. The annoying 'halo'. This is caused by anti-aliasing (anti-aliased=smooth, aliased=pixilated) text or blending an image on a white background. Simply fixed, Make the surrounding area transparent (represented by grey and white checkers.) To do so, add a new layer and add the text to the new layer. Optionally, To make the background transparent, select the entire canvas (Ctrl-a,) and delete (Delete key, duh.)

BTW, I didn't know pigs were involved, bender... :P
