katlomas
I have a photo 370 x 206 pxs which I want to stay in the centre of the workscreen after I add a layer 3200 x 2400 on top of it. However, after adding the new layer the photo is transported to the top left corner and I can't work out how to move it back. I want it to show through a cut-out in the layer. Can someone help, please? Thanks
Helio
Increase the canvas size (Image/Canvas Size or Ctrl-Shift-r) before you import the photo. It will give you the option to increase the canvas equally on all sides (default setting) in the bottom of the window. Quote v An excellent open–source strategy game—highly recommended. katlomas
That didn't work. The size of the layer is 1024 x 763, and that is the size I made the canvas. I also clicked on Anchor and the middle square. The photo is still in the top left corner after I add the layer.
Helio
Really? Try it again. It will not do that if you do it right. Quote v An excellent open–source strategy game—highly recommended. barkbark00
Try selecting just the 370 x 206px section of the photo and copy that (Ctrl+C). Then paste it into a new canvas (Ctrl+Alt+V) that is only 370 x 206px. Now, try resizing the new canvas to 3200 x 2400px with the anchor set to the center. I think this exerciser will give you a better understanding of how the layer/canvas/selection relationship works...
