Saitentanz
The foto below is mounted in PDN by using a few layers. I want to light up the rings on the left by using the elipse tool and their combination: An inner circle for the inside edge (holding the ctrl-key) and another one for the outside edge using the subtraction mode. After lifting the finger from left mouse key the masking disappears. So there is no way masking the rings properly. What can I do? Saitentanz
Hi Pixey, unfortunately no. It seems my English is not skilled enough. I don´t understand the instructions given in that thread. Normally it should work in the reduction mode. Is there any online tutorial on this problem? Ego Eram Reputo
Try selecting the entire ring first. Once you have that use the ALT key modifier (Subtract mode) to remove the center of the first selection. REF: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/ShapeSelectionTools.html under heading Subtract. Saitentanz
Ok, using ALT I can mask the rings. But if I want to lighten in up, then no reaction is being shown. What am I still doing wrong?
Ego Eram Reputo
Once you have the ring selected, apply Adjustments > Brightness and Contrast to your liking. Then select the next ring and apply the same modification. The settings will persist in the B&C dialog - so all you need to do is accept the changes by clicking Ok.
