PaintRider
I've been enjoying paint.net for quite some time (at least two years now I think), but I've never really needed to draw in it before. Or rather, I've never needed to draw anything that also required transparency/brushes, so I usually just used MS Paint or didn't notice when I used paint.net. Well, today, I was messing around in MS Paint and was messing with the different brush tools. I made something I liked, but realized I couldn't do anything in Paint with it as there was no transparency. Realizing my error, I went to copy my work into paint.net for further editing, but I found there was no real way to use it as Paint's background was too far merged with the brush strokes that weren't as strong. Figuring I would just redraw it, I went to paint.net's Paintbrush, only to find that all of its options for the Paintbrush are, well... there's not actually a single brush in the lot? I was shocked, to say the least, that MS Paint of all things would have something on paint.net. Is there any program or add on out there I could use to recreate the effect in paint.net so I can continue my project, or am I stuck? Eli
You can use TR's Dodge and Burn effect. Though it is a photo retouch tool but by using brushes and colours in blend mode it behaves somewhat like MSPaint, Edited September 2, 2015 by Eli
Rick Brewster
The brushes in MSPaint are actually very limited and generally low quality, even if at first they look really cool in some cases. I wanted all sorts of stuff in 4.0 but only have enough time and energy for what you see. I've started poking around this code recently, however, as it clearly has so much more potential. There are ways to remove things like a white background, or if you use the color picker tool and then a color removing plugin you can remove almost any color you want.
