The Dwarf Horde Rob Tauler (TechnoRobbo) - Code Lead, Design John Robbins (Red Ochre) - Graphics Lead, Design Scott Stringer (Ego Eram Reputo) - Documentation Lead, Design David Issel (BoltBait) - Beta Testing, Design Foreword The ShapeMaker plugin is a tool which facilitates the creation of SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) Shapes, Lines and Curves. The tool itself uses a WYSIWYG interface where Lines, Curves and entire Paths can be created and manipulated using just the mouse. Knowledge of the complex SVG structure is not required. ShapeMaker will create all that complex stuff for you and generate the Shape, code, or a complete reusable file. Why did we write this plugin? We wanted to create an easy-to-use click-and-drag interface which could create custom Shapes that paint.net itself could reuse via the new Shapes tool. That's right. Paint.net 4.0.6+ allows the user to add their own Shapes to the Shapes tool set. Not only can ShapeMaker Shapes be reused, the valid SVG generated can be pasted into HTML documents for modern browsers to render. We hope you like ShapeMaker! sashwilko Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 This is really neat, thank you dwarf horde, the gui is impressive and the ability to read pdf's within the plugin is a nice addition.

Ego Eram Reputo Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Pinned I'm loath to pin stuff when I've been a part of the developing team - but this plugin deserves it. This has truly been a team effort. @TechnoRobbo, @Red ochre, @BoltBait and myself are delighted with how ShapeMaker has turned out. Hopefully you'll all like it too and find it not only fun to use but useful as well. Thanks also to @Rick Brewster for his hints and tips as we neared the finishing line. midora Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 OK. someone has to be the grinch ;-) And I'm in fear nobody else will do it. It's perfect that we are getting this functionality in paint.net. But the UI is just a hack (IMHO). And I'm not talking about that it is not working in HighDPI.
BoltBait Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I'm trying to read your mind, but something's blocking me. Maybe you could explain what you don't like so that it could be addressed. Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
midora Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Come on, you know Windows and paint.net ui and guidelines. This is a cluster of controls and it looks like that the main design goal is to use a minimum amount of space. Strange color of button states. No hovering state or focus of controls. Tab order who knows. Standard usage of mouse buttons who cares. ... 1
BoltBait Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Well, if you don't care to use the Shape Maker plugin, perhaps you'd like to design your shapes manually. midora Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Thanks for taking the time to provide this tutorial. But the UI issue is something different. There are reasons to provide UIs in a standardized way. One reason is to support handicapped people.

midora Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 The position of the controls is better now in HighDPI. The controls at the right are still covered a little bit by the window frame. I guess the window size is not scaled. So the window has the size of the color tool window and all texts are much too small.

BoltBait Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 How about giving us a screen shot of what you're seeing? Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
midora Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) I have sent PMs to TR including screenshots before the HighDPI issue popped up in this thread (for all versions). But I can add it here too. Typically I prefer PMs for errors. If you are using a screen with a scaling different to 2.5 the image may be much to large in the browser. Typically I'm reducing the size of screenshots to 40% before I post them. But the Colors window shows you the relation. Edited August 6, 2015 by midora
BoltBait Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 All of the controls are visible and not overlapping. So, it looks like your issue is that the drawing area is very small. Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
