parkerxiii
I had finished 90% of a drawing but I needed a break so I saved it, I went to open it and this error keeps coming up: "System.FormatException: file is not a valid paint.net document at PaintDotNet.Document.FromStream(Stream stream) in d:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Data\Document.cs:line 1328 at PaintDotNet.Data.PdnFileType.OnLoad(Stream input) in d:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Data\PdnFileType.cs:line 30 at PaintDotNet.FileType.Load(Stream input) in d:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Data\FileType.cs:line 476 at PaintDotNet.Functional.Func.Eval[T1,TRet](Func`2 f, T1 arg1) in d:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Base\Functional\Func.cs:line 158" What can I do? I hope my drawing isn't gone for good it took hours:(
midora
You may use the 'What's it?' plugin to check if you saved the file in a way so that the extension does not match the content.
parkerxiii
The file is identified as a JPEG but is a .pdn file What can I do?
midora
If it is identified as jpeg then you saved it as jpeg. You can open it by changing the extension to .jpg. Sorry to say but if you used layers in the file then they are lost.
parkerxiii
I tried that but I still stayed as .pdn? luckily I merged the layers I had finished the piece
midora
You tried to rename the file in Explorer and it didn't work? Maybe you can do it by opening the explorer properties dialog of the file.
BoltBait
Displaying the File Extension in Windows Vista and Windows 7 Click the Start menu. ... Type "folder options" (without the quotes). ... A dialog box with the title "Folder Options" will appear. ... Click to uncheck the box for "Hide extensions for known file types". Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the dialog box. NOW try to change your file extension.
