echarles
Stupid question but I how do I access more basic colors like brown and dark green? I know there is the "More" tab and you can mess around with the RGB scale but are there more standard colors than the standard 16?

Red ochre
Welcome to the forum Charles! - Ah BoltBait is too quick for me! You can create and save custom palettes with 96 colours. This thread explains more:- as above. Browns, dark greens etc. are all possible using the 'more' option in the color window but the way they are arranged in spectrum order can be misleading.(We percieve colours based on what colours they are next to).Another way is to open a photo with the colours you have in mind and use the 'eye dropper' colour sampling tool to get the RGB values. There are also plugins that can automatically extract colours from an image.
