HSchou Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 The circle tool (ellipsis PLUS Shift key) has lost much of its usefulness: Many times I need to draw a circle, centered on a vertical or horizontal line. Previously, I simply ran the mouse down the line with the Shift Key held down and that's it. In 4.0.5, I have to move the mouse diagonally and the "upper left corner of the circle" is fixed. If this has any advantages, I have still to discover that. Please return to the old behaviour! Or perhaps there is a hidden option switch somewhere that I have overlooked? Quote
BoltBait Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Once you draw a circle, you can always move it before committing it to the canvas by grabbing the handle. Quote Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
HSchou Posted June 8, 2015 Author Posted June 8, 2015 OK - There's a centre mark now, visible for positioning - Great. It may even be easier to use than before :-) Thanks for replying. But are there any benefits with the new behaviour? Quote
midora Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Rick introduced in 4 a more general shapes concept. Circles and ellipses are now shapes like all the new ones. The advantage is that all the shapes are handled in the same way. Quote
BoltBait Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 The big benefit is that shapes can be adjusted (rotated, resized, reshaped, recolored, etc.) after being drawn and before being applied to the drawing. Quote Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
