Installation/Start up error

Hello,

 

I was running Paint.net 4.0.4, but recently when I try opening it, it crashes.I then downloaded the latest version, 4.0.5, which I've tried installing several times, but when I do I get fatal error 1603. I tried all the fixes I could find for 1603, but with no avail. I've also tried reinstalling version 4.0.4, which installs fine, but as soon as I start running, I'm faced with the same crash I got before.

 

I have seen similar errors around, but none of the fixes I've found so far seem to work.

Okay, a little update. I repeatedly tried the previous version, and the latest working one is 3.5.11.

 

I will continue to use this until I find a fix, or Paint.net updates with a fix.

 

I would still like to be able to use the latest version.
