ashaw
I brought in a picture. Then using the eraser. Erase the background. Save the file. When I import into another program the background is still there eventhough Paint.NET show the background erased. What I am I doing wrong. Rainshadow
Different programs have different patterns for showing transparency. Like Ms Paint just has plain white, and an icon program I have has it a light blue. Or the program does not support transparency Quote Do not click! Time flies when you're eating a donut. Crazy Man Dan
Make sure you're saving in a format that retains transparency. Formats like JPG do not have an alpha channel, so if you import it into another program as a JPG, it will have a white background. I would suggest using PNG for images that need transparency. Bob
When you save (File > Save As ...), make sure to select the PNG file format in the dropdown. It handles transparency the best. Quote No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio
