mackenzieh
I have a 500GB Western Digital External Hard Drive and it is not recognized my my laptop when I have it hooked up to my laptop while it's in the enclosure that I just received for Christmas. I can't even initial it because it keeps giving me errors which were: The error I received under MBR (Master Boot Record) was: Incorrect Function. The error I received when I tried to initialize it under GPT (GUID Partition Table) was: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check). This all happened when the drive was in the new enclosure. All the ports read my drive on the disk as ready to use but when I go to "My Computer, the enclosure isn't listed. Any help would be great. Thanks, Mackenzie

racerx
Try a different enclosure. I use something like this one and can read two HDDs at once. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182281
