Rick Brewster
I'm looking at fixing this soon in a 4.0.6 update. I've been getting a bunch of reports of this... I think someone broke something over at Microsoft. DLynn
I'm having the exact same problem when I tried to upgrade to the new 4.0.5, but have discovered a workaround until 4.0.6 is released. You can right click on Paint.NET and choose Run As Administrator, it will ask if you want to allow Paint.NET to make changes to this computer, click Yes. I do have a pdncrash file and emailed that to the email provided in the file.
joelsand
This might help someone having this issue, so I'll post the solution I found here. There were two (probably malware of some kind) programs installed called "AnySend" and "moters." Once I uninstalled these using the Programs and Features control panel, this error went away for the person I was helping that received this error message (albeit in a different .NET application).
