What's this?

This is a plugin under Effect/Render menu.

It allows you to create a hexagonal grid.

The grid is centered on the middle of the picture (or selection).

Oh, BTW, thanks to Boltbait for anti-aliasing code...

Download it!

Thanks MadJik!

I've often thought something similar to this should be included in PdN as a Fill Style.

I found a small bug in it...

Canvas size = 400x400

Also, if you leave the canvas size at default (800x600), the same bug can be reproduced if you change the Size to 134 and the Brush width to 10.

Hi Madjik,

I was trying to achieve the effects in your picture. So I applied the Oblique effect to the hexagons but found that some of the hexagons were out of alignment or incomplete.

How did you create your picture?

Hi Madjik,

A closer look at your picture told me that you probably had two layers and moved the second layer to create the 3-dimensional effect!

Thanks for another good plug-in as well as a simple example of how useful it could be!

What...how? That's one of the most amazing things I've seen in a long time. Tutorial would be awesome!

Excellent plugin, by the way. I use it a lot.

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
