phontanka
In Photoshop we can use layer mask and the gradient tool to blend two images together seamlessly. I would like to know if this is possible in Paint.net. To be more precise, let's say I have two images on two different layers in Photoshop and I add a layer mask to the top layer. Then I use the gradient tool with black and white colours to reveal/hide certain parts of the image on the bottom layer. I hope this makes sense. The result is something like this image (though here several images were blended): http://www.kaposmero.hu/gamma/kepek/fejlec.jpg

crosswalker
Alternatively, you could use the alpha mask plugin. It can be found in the plugins section of the forum.
