Cristiano Ronaldo 7
Hello people; I am basically from Gta Forums and am learning to make Gfx's these days.So my question is of how to make curved text in paint.net to write in the way "NOMAD" is written at the top side. I wanted to write their "Sons of Samedi" in Freakshow fonts. Can someone please illustrate the method in how to make curved text [ The thing is its shape is Oval and so Circle text writer plugin wont work ]. Thanks to who ever helps me.
BoltBait
Try this plugin: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/16347-circle-text/ 1 Quote Click to play: Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and how about a Computer Dominos Game
Ego Eram Reputo
The Circle Text plugin that BoltBait suggested is the place to start. As you pointed out, you want an oval or an elliptical shape to fit your image. Try this... 1. Use the plugin on a transparent layer to render the text in a circular shape. 2. Select the entire layer with Ctrl + A 3. Activate the Move tool (press M). 4. Grab the control nub at the top center of the layer and drag it downwards. You may need to reposition the text over the banner & fiddle with the text size to get it perfect. 1 Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
ReMake
Or try Tube Effect by MadJik. Step 1. Load your picture and create a new layer. Step2. In the Colors panel choose color necessary for you and in the Tools panel choose the Text tool. Step3. Choose a necessary font (1), choose or enter a necessary font size (2) and a type (view) of a font (3 if it is necessary). Step4. Place the Text tool cursor approximately where the text has to begin and type your text. With the the blinking cursor align text. Step5. Apply effect TubeOblique. With the cursor (1) gives the text an arc. With the slider (2) adjust the text. Merge the layers if necessary. Maybe it's not quite what you expected. Then continue working with the text (layer 2) using the effect DistortThis! by TechnoRobbo or Perspective effect by dpy.

skullbonz
You could have done it using just the Circle Text plugin with the right settings and it would look more like the bottom one. Have done it many times, just have to play with the settings. You could also use the Rectangle Select tool and the Move Selection tool to surround just one letter at a time, then use the Move Selected Pixels tool to adjust the position and angle of that letter. Now just unselect and move to the next letter and do the same until all looks good. With this method it is almost better if you type your text on it's own layer, put a space between them when typing and put them away from the spot you want them to be. Now move each one separately and place in their proper position. If one overlaps another and blocks it out, cut and paste on a new layer. As it is the letters of Sons of Samedi all point straight up and down. The letters of Nomad point towards the middle. Other than that, nice design. After playing around with this I see why you are having a hard time,it is too small to use any of the plugins and have it come out the right proportions. I did the copy below by typing each letter on it's own layer and using the three tools above to locate, squeeze and stretch each letter until all looked good. When satisfied I merged all layers of text and used the same tools to adjust the final position and angle of the whole thing. I used Barbecue text if you are wondering. This method takes a few minutes but what is time if you are making something important?
