lovespaintnet
Greetings, Newly instaled fonts (ttf) show up in Word, Paint & Infran View. In Paint.Net, I get the yellow triangle/black exclamation point nest to the font name. Thanks in advance for your time Application paint.net 4.0.3 (Final 4.3.5316.40022)Build Date Tuesday, July 22, 2014 Hardware accelerated rendering (GPU) TrueAnimations TrueDPI 96.00 (1.00x scale)Language en-US OS Windows 8.1 (6.3.9600.0).NET Runtime 4.0.30319.34014Physical Memory 11,470 MB CPU AMD A10-5750M APU with Radeon HD Graphics Architecture x64 (64-bit) Process Mode 64-bit Speed ~2495 MHz Cores / Threads 4 Features DEP, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4_1, SSE4_2, XSAVE Video Card AMD Radeon HD 8650G Dedicated Video RAM 731 MB Dedicated System RAM 0 MB Shared System RAM 5,504 MB Vendor ID 0x1002 Device ID 0x990B Subsystem ID 0xFA861179 Revision 0 LUID 0x0000879D Flags None Outputs 1 Video Card Microsoft Basic Render Driver Dedicated Video RAM 0 MB Dedicated System RAM 0 MB Shared System RAM 256 MB Vendor ID 0x1414 Device ID 0x008C Subsystem ID 0x00000000 Revision 0 LUID 0x00008EA9 Flags Software Outputs
BoltBait
What font? If you could link to the font download, that might help as well. lovespaintnet
Thanks for the reply. The fonts were installed the same way that you (Swankyfrank) did. They're installed correctly as they do show in all of my programs that handle fonts. Since 1st posting, I've un/re-installed both Paint.NET & the fonts. Unblocked them in the fonts folder and tapped out "Gerorge of the Jungle" on my laptop and said..."work" while opening the program. That's all I got. lovespaintnet
Device Manager - Display adapters - shows "AMD Radeon HD 8650G" only. You are right Swankyfrank, that is the isuue. Paint.NET sees my Video Card as Microsoft Basic Render Driver. How do I get Paint.NET to recognize my AMD video card?
Swankyfrank
Darned if I know. I'd follow up on that last post. So far I've seen something about Windows Update which I don't have a link to, and enabling hidden fonts in 7 http://www.emreakkas.com/windows-tips/how-to-enable-hidden-fonts-in-windows-7 All very time consuming and frustrating. That's a good luck from me, maybe someone else here can pick up, but Windows answers may be your best bet.
Rick Brewster
This has nothing to do with video card or driver stuff. If the fonts show up with a little yellow triangle, then it means DirectWrite (the text/font engine that paint.net uses) can't process it. Either the font is corrupt or there's a bug in DirectWrite. In any event there's nothing I can do on my end to fix things, unfortunately. For the record, the Alanus font that you linked to works just fine on my system (Windows 8.1). Maybe you need to make sure you have all of your Windows Updates installed? lovespaintnet
Thank you, SwankyFrank for all of your help. Rick Brewster, thanks for Paint.NET and your help. Windows is up to date. I'll post again if I am able to reslove my issue.
lovespaintnet
Problem resolved I checked my update history for an AMD Graphics Adapter and uninstalled AMD Display Driver Version 13.152_130830a-161907c-Toshiba Released 10/13/2013. Toshiba Service Station displayed this message: "Toshiba recommends installing this component that has been updated to support Windows 8.1". I clicked Ignore and opened Windows Update. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 software update released in April, 2014 was available under optional updates. I installed the Win update and all fonts display. Thank you to all.
