Im still working on mine. Its not the gray thats the problem, but the text. Also, im improving the gold a little. I guess i could work on that now

EDIT:

And about the gray, I wasnt planning on doing that. I was just kinda messing around, and it was made through the magic of xor

Another EDIT:

I would have been done with this a while ago, but im stuck with only the plugins that come with paint.net

I love xor. I don't know if you've ever watch 'Top Gear'? It's some British car show and they have a test driver that is really mysterious called 'The Stig'. Anyways, that's what xor reminds me of :P

I've started on a 'pro' sig this time instead of just a cheap 5min job :P. I also decided to save the project with all the layers so I can change it if need be. Well enough delay... here it is:

FireFly:

I like it!

I do agree that a border, even just a 1px black line around the outside, would add a lot.

Also, the reflection is a bit blurry (not sure if that's intentional), and the reflection of the tail of the "y" is above the tail of the "y!" What kind of physics is your world running?

Still, it looks great. :)

here's the next improvement on the sig I showed just before. For some reason, neither plugin nor manually could I get a good looking reflection so I took it out and put in a phrase that I really like :). Still saving it as a pdn as well for safety :P

Is that for the 'Pump It Up' or the black one or maybe both together?

I think I've rated yours already but times and opinions do change so...

Firefly:

I like the look of your sig. The rounded edges, though, could use some anti-aliasing. This could be done by creating a white rounded-rectangle on a black background with the desired size, then using the Alpha Mask Importer to import it.

Still, the texture is great and it's well composed.

Here's a new sig for you to chew on, my entry into the Easter SOTW contest.

Alpha Mask - I may seem to know must stuff about PDN but let me assure you - I don't!

Also, CMD, I though you had well over 1000 posts, what happened?

The sonic sig is ok 8/10, but the Easter one is fantastic - 10/10 :D

Nope, I've never had over 1000 posts.

I'm glad you like the Easter sig. It'll be interesting to see the results. I'm loving BuzzKill's entry. :D

As to the Alpha Mask Importer:

Use it to import an image to be used as a mask for the pixels on that layer. There's an explanation of how it works in the topic.

Frojo I like yours... one thing you could've done though, is changed the font colour/placement so it looked "indented" in the "metal"... other than that its clean and simple

Yea, I was working on that. Back when I made it, the text was really bugging me. Ive been meaning to fix it, but just never got around to it. Maybe in the next day or two. I also am going to give the gold a little more shine.
