So, I was experimenting, and...

...I have a few questions.

Firstly, dealing with rotation:

When you switch to the Move tool and right-click to rotate your selection, I see there's a little circle denoting the rotation axis. I'm wondering, how does one move this axis? Say, if I wanted to rotate the selection around its lower-left-most point, or something like that. I tried combinations of mouse buttons, [Ctrl], [Alt], [shift], and directional keys, and I can't get it to move! Lazy axis...

Also, in the Layers->Rotate/Zoom function, I'm wondering, why is your last rotation sticky? Especially if I wanted to 3D rotate one layer, then rotate another layer, but only a 2D rotation, it's almost impossible to get the orb outline back to the center. I suppose it could be helpful if you wanted to rotate multiple layers exactly the same way, as there are currently no numbered readouts to input into the dialogue next time, but perhaps a "Reset to Defaults" button is in order?

Next, another Move tool function, one I didn't even know was there...

When you make a selection, you can automatically create a copy to move by holding down the [Ctrl] key as you click on the selection. But then, after you've moved that copy, if you [Ctrl]+click on it again, you only move the copy, instead of creating a new one. To make a new one, you have to switch from the Move tool to drop the pixels, then switch back to the Move tool and [Ctrl]+click on the selection again to pick up a new copy of the pixels. Now, it's not too big a deal (, [M], [Ctrl]+click) to do this, and it makes sense that you have to drop the current pixels to pick up new ones, but perhaps you could implement automatic placement of a copy of the floating pixels upon [Ctrl]+clicking of a hovering selection. That way you could just keep going if you want to place many copies of a simple pattern, or something to that effect. Just a thought.

Well, that's all for now. Thanks for your time!

Good questions. Here goes:

1. The rotation 'screw' (it looks like it takes a flat-edge screwdriver, no?) cannot be moved. This is for simplicity's sake. If the screw was moveable, we'd have to make it persist on screen and it could get in the way, and maybe people wouldn't understand out to use it, and it might make the code a lot more difficult, etc. Maybe we'll do this later, but not now. We want to actually finish v2.5 someday!

2. The R/Z stuff is 'sticky' simply because all Effects' parameters are sticky. You're just running into the bug where we haven't finished the dialog to include edit boxes, up/downs, and 'Reset' button(s) :)

3. Interesting, I never really thought of that. I'll look into making it work more intuitively (i.e. after you move it, Ctrl would 'drop a copy')

Alrighty. Perhaps that's why I couldn't get it to move...

I thought that it may have been a bug. But if it's not intended to move, I guess I'll stop trying to move it. :)

Yeah, now that I think about it, that makes sense (the "all Effects' parameters are sticky" part). And I know you're planning on putting in the text boxes. Sorry for rushing you.

Well, thanks for the quick answers!
