PlayWithFire
I am looking for a nice high-res PNG logo for the dock icon. I can't seem to find one anywhere on these boards. Thanks!
Rick Brewster
Paint.NET 3.0 already comes with a 256x256 icon embedded in the EXE. Illnab1024
The main reason you cannot find it is simply because it is licensed in such a way that having it out in the open is asking for the license to be breached: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.5/ Above is the license details. I wouldn't doubt you can use the .ico file for the dock. EDIT: Rick said the same above - use the EXE EDIT2: Better license link: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by- ... /legalcode Quote ~~
PlayWithFire
On the dock the icon is not showing anywhere close to 256x256. It looks pretty blurry. Why is that? When i dragged VLC there, it looks fine. Is there something i have to do to change the icons to use the 256x256 version?
Illnab1024
Do you have the latest version? Are you sure your dock is capable of reading the icon's 256x256 format? Quote ~~
PlayWithFire
yes, i just downloaded and installed 3.0 And i am using Rocket Dock. I am pretty sure it's capable of seeing the full size icon, since VLC is showing up just fine.
prospero
Since I had a hard time finding a 256x256 icon of the current logo and someone on here mentioned it was embedded in the .exe file (but didn't display as 256), I extracted it and made an .ico file and a .png file. *For use with dock applications only, see logo license information above* http://www.syprus.com/paintnet/ PaintDotNet_3.ico [264k] PaintDotNet_3.png [77k] Please use Right-Click -> Save Target As... Rick Brewster
That PNG file is messed up. The alpha didn't carry over correctly. Just download the source code and find PaintDotNet.ico. I don't know why you need to go extracting and hunting for things... prospero
your PaintDotNet.ico is only 16x16, not 256. (but i did find the 256 version in the .exe file, hence i extracted it instead) the best i could find in the source is you Icon50x50.png file under Resources in the source. my PNG was created with paint.net, so i don't know about the alpha transparency, it works great for me, perfect transparency and 256x256 resolution. Rick Brewster
Uhh no, the icon is provided in 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, and 256x256 within the PaintDotNet.ico file. src/Resources/Icons/PaintDotNet.ico Like I said, the high-res icon is right there in the source code ZIP. I don't know why everyone is going to this trouble of trying to "find" or convert or extract high-res versions. The alpha on your PNG is wrong because the drop shadow isn't showing up with partial transparency, nor is the edge of the polaroid portion of the icon. It should look like this: Yours looks like this: Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
