RFX
A post primarily for showing not what you can create but why you create what you do such as the usage. Is it a hobby, for fun, for gaining experience, for work, etc.?I use it mostly for web design and elements such as buttons plus other general graphics like help diagrams or promo images, and is used where I work. I also create textures for game design but that's more of a hobby than anything else. I like Paint.Net simply because it's small and easy to use not to mention free. Here's a couple images of how I use it: Edited August 8, 2014 by RFX
Goonfella
Well I use it as a hobby. Ever since I bought my first laptop I wanted to have a go at space scapes and PDN was the first image editing program I downloaded. I also like to try my hand at Photoshop tuts, adapting them to PDN. I must say RFX your race track looks great. The parts you added here look nice. 1 Quote Please feel free to visit my Gallery on PDNFans And my Alternatives to PDN
MikeRobe
I use it for game design, for Tachyon Entertainment (shameless self-promotion). I find it easier to use than GIMP and Photoshop, not to mention it's as good as either when you have pages and pages of plugins! I also use it for drawing whatever I feel like, making mockups of products etc... Quote I baked another one...
david.atwell
Mostly web dev. Resizing, compressing, cropping, that sort of thing. It's way faster than Photoshop. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
BoltBait
I use it for both home and work. At home, I use it to edit digital photos and to clean up scanned stuff. At work, I use it to create and edit graphics for documentation and for creating graphics for software projects. 2 Quote Click to play: Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and how about a Computer Dominos Game

DarkShock
Definitely for hobby. I also used it for a few projects when I was in college (projects that I aced). Actually, here's a video of a site I made for a web design class back in 2010. I didn't make the images on the site, but I used Paint.NET to add borders, resize, and edit brightness/contrast. skullbonz
I started using it as a hobby and thought I could make some money with art on the side but the art world is not an easy place to make money unless you are a young inspired graphic artist that follows trends closely. I gave up on the money making part and just use it for fun and teaching my grandaughters how to use it now. I have about a dozen art programs on my pc but 95% of the time PDN is my preferred choice. teh501stSnoipeh
Just for fun, mostly. I also use it for gaming purposes, like texture editing (Source Engine is really fun to mess with), and logo design. Not part of a company, I just do it for fun. TrevorOutlaw
As a hobby, mostly, and to occasionally fix up my photographs. Once upon a time ago, I tried download an, ah, not so legal copy of Photoshop but my conscience got the better of me, and I scoured the Internet far and wide for the next best thing since peanut butter and Nutella sandwich, and stumbled across Paint.NET. That was, what, five years ago? Now, I am happy with PDN. But, yeah, it's a hobby machine next to playing with Blender. nitenurse79
These days I use it for everything relating to image creating / editing. My original reason for using it was to tidy up scanned photo's of my family. Now I would be lost without it.

barbieq25
Safety valve. The process of creation, not necessarily the outcome, is essential for my mental stability & others' safety Once, someone liked my work enough to buy a print on dA. I have also used it in work applications. The boss I & played a trick on other staff showing rats sitting on work desks, keyboards etc. Must have done it a little too well as we hard a hard time convincing staff that it was a photo manip.
