Greg62
First post from a newbie using 3.5.11. I am enhancing a photo of a golf shot just after impact and have found various tutes and advice very helpful. I am happy with what I have done though not enough to show the whole picture to this audience. Attached is a cutout of the ball with some Scottish sky for context, I would appreciate some advice about enhancing the ball in order to make it stand out just a little more in an A3 print. I created a layer in the master for this. regards Greg
Cc4FuzzyHuggles
Hello. Here is what I would try : If it's not already, having the ball on it's own layer will be the first step, Zoom in and make an ellipse selection around the ball, then copy (ctrl + c), add new layer, paste (crtl v). If you did need to cut it out and put it on a new layer, it mgiht have rough edges. Try these plugins to help smooth edges : Basic Antialias -- http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/7644-basic-antialias-version-11-bug-fixed-january-14-2008/, Feather -- http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/2140-feather-plugin-now-with-source/, AA's Assistant, which is in this this pack -- http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=16643 Then you can try some of these adjustments or effects on the ball : Brightness/Contrast -- Found under the Adjustments Tab > Brightness/Contrast Sharpen -- Found Under Effects Tab > Photo > Sharpen Adjust it's color -- In the Adjustments Tab there are several adjustments for color > Hue/Saturation , Levels , Curves , Sepia . Drop Shadow Plugin -- http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/8375-drop-shadow-and-other-effects-krisvdms-plugin-pack-updated-2010-10-26/ If you don't know how to install plugins, go to the plugin section of this forum, there is a guide there. Hope some of these ideas help. Good luck. Quote *~ Cc4FuzzyHuggles Gallery ~*
Ego Eram Reputo
One of my favorite enhancement tricks is to duplicate the golf ball layer then on the upper layer set the blend mode to multiply. Hint press F4 to open the layer properties dialog.
