Ari
As the title says i can't open V8U8 DDS files, neither with Paint.NET v3.5.11, nor with v4.0.b5. Everytime i try to open them with 3.5.11 I get the following error message 'There was an unspecified error while opening the file', while opening them with 4.0.b5 yields this message: <pre> System.FormatException: File is not a supported DDS format at PaintDotNet.Data.Dds.DdsFile.Load(Stream input) in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Data\Dds\DdsFile.cs:Line 473. at PaintDotNet.Data.Dds.DdsFileType.OnLoad(Stream input) in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Data\Dds\DdsFileType.cs:Line 227. at PaintDotNet.FileType.Load(Stream input) in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Data\FileType.cs:Line 459. at PaintDotNet.Functional.Func.Eval[T1,TRet](Func`2 f, T1 arg1) in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Base\Functional\Func.cs:Line 156.</pre> The weird part is that I'm pretty sure I was able to open them about a year ago. Since then I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. I'm also sure that these files are not corrupt, unfortunately I can't upload one of them, because they are to big (10MB). But if you're interested I can provide a link to a place where they are hosted: Link: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/9735492/1 In order to open *.tpf files you need a program called TPFExtract which can be downloaded here: http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showthread.php?t=162333 or here http://me3explorer.freeforums.org/tpfextractor-net-alternate-extractor-t477.html Thanks for your help! Edit: GIMP and XnView have no problem opening them. I just tried that to be sure they aren't corrupted...
