ScifiGirl
I realise that this topic may well be somewhere here. I have looked, but my searches haven't been successful. So I apologise in advance. I've been using PS CS3 now for 4 years, it was an old disc when it was given to me and the soft ware finally died a few days ago. Since I cannot afford to buy a new version, a friend of mine recommended paint.net; I like it. It seems quite familiar to me Now for my question. When I do my forum signatures, I like to enhance the fonts, so they look a little better than a plain old font. What I am used to using, is layer styles such as 'drop shadow' 'colour fill' and 'stroke' (outline). Are there any features with my wonderful new paint.net software that will give me the same results? PS I did read the rules, so I'm hoping you understand my question so that I don't have to load one of my old signatures to show what I mean Quote "Geek is me"

david.atwell
Hey, Scifigirl. Welcome to the forum! So, johnnysdream 's sketchy-looking blind URL is to the Paint.NET forum plugin index. You can find effects like drop shadow, outline object, etc. in that index. You also might try the Text Effects tutorial forum. It's great fun. johnnysdream - newbies don't usually react well to sketchy-looking blind links. Try including a description of where they'll be going along with it. 1 Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
ScifiGirl
Thank you both. I did get some of the plug ins yesterday, that was the first thing my friend told me to do. I found one topic, couldn't follow it at all. Although the effects look excellent, I have trouble with tutorial videos as I am almost totally deaf Quote "Geek is me"
nitenurse79
I have trouble with tutorial videos as I am almost totally deaf When I watch tutorial videos, I keep pausing them and make notes on the steps taken. It might be a pain to do this, but at least then you have it written down. As David mentions - Welcome to the forum
ScifiGirl
Oh....sorry, thank you both for the welcome (too early in the morning for me). I didn't think of that I'll try it, so long as my connection doesn't bug out while I'm watching it Quote "Geek is me"
