There was a layer for each tile and I almost added a layer for each of the shadows, but in the end I just used the "Drop Shadow" plugin on each of the tile layers. I'm sure that I could sell it even better if I spent a little more time on the shadowing and used the Rotate/Zoom tool to add a "twist" instead of just the rotate.
