SAND33P Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Im thinking of getting a new mouse, my current one is too small. Something i was curious about was if PDN has any programmable functions that can be assigned to extra mouse buttons, and if not, if it will ever be added to the dev list? It would be quite cool to assign a plugin like 'center object' to a mouse button or something like that. My main question is if it would EVER be implemented, if thats the case then ill look more into some more funky mice. Quote

SAND33P Posted March 19, 2014 Author Posted March 19, 2014 Nope Cheers haha, would it be possible from a plugin / third party program perspective? Quote
Ego Eram Reputo Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Not a plugin - they MUST play nicely with Paint.NET. Hooking into the system this way would not be appropriate for a plugin. 3rd party? It may be possible to map an extra mouse button to a keyboard shortcut. I recommend you do a bit more research on this idea. david.atwell Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Look into things like AutoHotKey. That might help you out. Map an obscure key combination to an action, then map that obscure key combo to the mouse button. 1 Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
SAND33P Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Thanks guys, ill look into it One last thing, i dont think its possible, but could a non standard plugin have its own shortcut set to it? Quote
Ego Eram Reputo Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I'm not sure what you mean by 'non standard'? Plugins cannot have their own assigned shortcut. It's not able to be specified from within the plugin. You are able to run a plugin using keystrokes which open and drill down the menu system. Would that work for you?
